Bald Eagle

Hi all I'm new to the world of DSLR photography and after having my Canon D500 for a week, I borrowed a mates Tamron 70-300mm zoom and set off for Whipsnade Zoo. Below is my favourite shot, and I would be grateful for some constructive feedback.

Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
Exposure: 0.00
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Re: Bald Eagle

Great shot - lovely detail - personally I'd have cropped in tighter from the left.

Jim

EDIT: - on second thoughts no I wouldn't

On third thoughts I think I would crop a bit to get rid of some of the sky

BTW I know this is a bald eagle, but have you ever seen one with hair?

I thought Jim's 1st point was valid as my shot doesn't obey the rule of thirds and as you say it would also help get rid of some of the cloud.

Thanks for your comments.

That's what I originally thought (obviously) but when I revisited it I quite liked the texture in the top section of the clouds.....
