Advice on HP C4180 or C5180 All-in-one printer please

Im after a new printer and the missus as expressed a desire to have with it a scanner/copier, aswell as the ability to print out excellent photos.
I had the Canon IP4000 but the print head has gone and the cheapest i can find it is £50, and that used to do absolutle fantastic photo printing !!!

I have researched around and found the HP C4180 and the C5180 to be the one i want.
All i can tell the difference being is that the C5180 is network enabled, so im not too fussed about having that as i already print across my wireless network.

So has anyone used either of these, and is the C5180 worth an extra £60.

The C4180 is £71 deliever and the C5180 is around £150 delievered .... a big difference !!!!

Anyone got any advice ??

Hi Mate,

I have the 4180. Its good, very good. I have used it now for about 3 months and printed about 15 4x6 pics and a few A4. Lots of documents (Invoices for my own repair place) and its been fine. The printer itself is small and solid contruction. Easy to setup although the cd install process took an age because of all the software included....but its worth it.

Only thing that sort of annoyed me was the black cart is a number 337 and that was a pain to find on the high street so had to order the blacks online and managed to get a couple of 443 colours with 100 sheets of 6x4 from Costco for £32 for 2 sets....the blacks were £13.

The 5180 does not justify the extra money in my opinion and if you set the 4180 on fast normal through the properties its very fast and for black its fine.

lastly, there is a little gizmo thing that you get with it for 4x6 photo paper printing. It sits in the side of the printer to the left in a pop out compartment and is brilliant. You fit the phot paper in this gizmo (sorry cant think what its called as I type) the set the switch to borderless or bordered and then fit into printer at the front and click print (After setting the programme for photopaper and max settings) and away it goes........nice and neat and the prints are perfect and do NOT move while coming from this gizmo. When your finished just slot it back into the compartment in the side and click shut and then replace your A4 paper back in......DONE!

I think the C4180 will fit your needs fine and at the moment 23:53 6th Feb 07 Comet have that printer for £69.99 in stock.

Hope all that helps

Cheers for that,
I have decided on the C4180 and ordered one. Unfortunately the one from Comet was out of stock "in my area" !!!
So had to go though Shop.com (who went through cameras2u.com). In that way i get 6% off as i went through Quidco, and with the express delivery being cheaper than the standard delivery, it should arrive on Friday for a princely sum of £66.75.

Ta for the advice, appreciated.
