InkJet Printer
Hi,
I have read through the posts on inkjet printers and some of them are quite old, so I thought I would ask about inkjet printers.
I should start by saying that I do not use the printer a lot, its in my son's bed room, so it does get warm in there at times.
I want the printer for printing documents that may contain pictures of reasonable quality.
I used to have a Cannon inkjet printer, it was OK but kept on giving poor quality prints, I presume head blocking? We had tried replacement cartridges but they also clogged up.
I now have an Epson 830, a few years old now and the same thing happens, I use 'Cheap' cartridges, does this make a difference? Should I try an Epson original? If I use the head cleaning cycle it does make things better for a short while.
I think when you perform a head cleaning cycle the head get cleaned by a piece of rubber, just wipes across the head, is it worth me seeing if I can clean the cleaning mechanism with some Isopropanol, or something similar?
Or do I need to buy another printer? I don't really want to buy a new printer every couple of years..
I see there are now some cheap Laser printers on the market@ £50, but that won't be any good for pictures.
I suppose if I did need to buy a new printer, I might go for an all in one, printer scanner, copier, as my scanner is falling to pieces..
Does any one know of a forum dedicated to computer hardware, as that might give me more answers.
Any feedback appreciated,
Steve
