I quite like Paintshop Pro from JASC. Not sure if it uploads direct from cameras.....

It is a lot simpler to use than Photoshop (I found) although it is not as powerful.

You can get it off Amazon for 55 quid.

Sometimes it gets bundled with scanners - which would probably work out cheaper.

Or look online at Amazon - they're probably cheaper.

Re: a good photo editor program?

I use MS Digital Image suit 10, and to be honest it is quite good if you are only looking to do the basic things. I bought it a couple of years ago for around £25, and I use it all the time for redeye corrections, cropping, colour/exposure corrections etc. Best of all I use it for bulk editing / renaming of pictures and to catalog them. Very easy!

Irfanview is what I use all the time too, but it is not very user friendly.

Re: a good photo editor program?

I would use photoshop, but don't get elements as you cannot get the full effect and the most out of the programme, i used to use it at school and it's really quite shocking, if you are buying the programme you could possibly get a teacher at a local school to buy it for you as they get it cheaper.. that is if you have any kids who go to a school or if you yourself are still at the school

However, you could always take the download approach, it's always the best way
