Didnt know the 12month recommendation mate, I haven't done mine in a while It's more the way they apply it as well, just a big blob of gunk plastered all over the place. I guess from there point of view is to much rather than not enough. Theres plenty of cards out there being used to prove the current method is working fine. Im just a fussy git and like it done properly

say fellas, im about to go spend some money and buy two 60 gig agility 3 ssd's one for my hackintosh osx lion boot drive, and one for my windows 7 boot drive. my question to you guys is, are there any files I need to move off the ssd from the install or do you do it just the same as you would on a regular drive? I seem to recall reading that windows 7 writes particularly often particularly large files to its boot drive and that it could damage ssd life in the process? is that true? is there anything like that in windows 7? if i can get this all worked out tonight Im going to be a happy chappy tomorrow when I walk out of the store with two ssd's a new wireless card and my asus xonar dx tomorrow :P

User Profiles - Create and Move During Windows 7 Installation - Windows 7 Forums

Allows you to move the Users folder off of the SSD upon installation (before it is created).

Is there nothing else which needs moving?

El Nino and Jambo have used that MX4 stuff too and have had massive temp drops under load. But i'll be taking that advise on board and change mine every 12 months or when temps begin to rise.

GPUs get hotter than CPUs so I'm hoping that there is a special TIM which doesn't dry up as quickly as regular CPU TIM when I do it again next time.

It's a way to tweak, customise and edit the OS without then having things getting in the way or having to move them - e.g. if you wanted to move user accounts and have created one which you're obviously logged into then it's a pain.

Just follow the instructions, they're well set out and simple to follow, and all is sorted

I keep getting an error when running Sysprep.

I think maybe the WMP service is making it fall over.

Have you changed the correct bits in the config?

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend">
<settings pass="oobeSystem">
<component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<FolderLocations>
<ProfilesDirectory>d:\Users</ProfilesDirectory>
<ProgramData>d:\ProgramData</ProgramData>
</FolderLocations>
</component>
</settings>
<cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:E:/sources/install.wim#Windows 7 ULTIMATE" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" />
</unattend>
Should be either "amd64" for x64 installations or "x86" for 32-bit installations

Location that you want the Users directory

Location that you want the ProgramData directory

Drive letter of your installation media

Version of Win 7 you're installing, options being: HOMEBASIC, HOMEPREMIUM, PROFESSIONAL, ULTIMATE or ENTERPRISE

Make sure you call it relocate.xml and that it's to the root of a drive (gives you less to type and therefore less room for mistakes).

Open up the command prompt and type
[code]
cd \Windows\System32\Sysprep[/code

Then
Code:
Sysprep.exe /audit /reboot /unattend:D:\relocate.xml
Making sure to change the drive letter to the right one for the file path

Hopefully you just missed something and this should cover it

WMP service though, why would that stop it?

If you read the PDF it does state about stopping the WMP service. I might give it another go on the weekend.

I Corsair!!!!

So I had a free shipping code and I planned on getting the Mesh for the 650D which would help cool my crossfire cards. I had trouble placing the order and the webstore as it kept throwing up errors.

Corsair then advised that I ring them on their toll free Skype number to place the order that way and I've just gotten off the phone with them they said they will just send it out free of charge.

I have just got around to trying it again. The WMP service kept making it fall over.

I now seem to have some left over stuff on my c: drive in terms of the ProgramData folder.

Do I delete it or move it over to the other drive ?

Ah, I didn't have the WMP issue so hadn't read down that far in the instructions.

What has it left behind?

For some strange reason I now have folders created in the old location. Its moved the folders but anything new now has a folder back in the old location.

I now have Adobe/Acrobat and Microsoft / Microsoft Security Client and / OFFICE.

If I do run and %USERPROFILE% it points to the correct place.

Oh hey guys, I totally forgot to mention that I got a Samsung Galaxy S3 on the 19th of June! I was bored, it was sunny and I was near the end of my contract. I waltzed down the high street, cancelled my existing contract and got it - Fantastic.

It's pretty slick and fast, but it needs a decent case to add some weight/body to it. It was a bit strange to get used to; especially after being on iOS for 2 years, but it's sweeeeet! I'm loving the Dark Side thus far.

Contrary to popular beliefs, the screen is great too - although it is not perfect. The One X and iP4 have superior screens, it's a fact.. But it is still a great looking screen none-the-less.

Here's hoping that they bring out the HD Super AMOLED Plus version. Hopefully, they will have OEM replacement parts which you can simply buy and fit yourself, or get someone to do it for you.... Or a trade-in scheme, I dunno.

Although, watching videos and playing Pokemon on it is excellent!

Going to wait and see what the IPhone 5 will be like. If its not that different I will stick to iPhone 4.

People are assuming this form of mentality - 'PenTile = *****!' - It's not true. The screen isn't an issue to be honest, there is some 'fuzzyness', you can only really notice it being 'fuzzy' when text is about the size of a needle-head or you're sitting about an inch away from the screen, but due to the sheer size of the display, you'd ideally be sitting a foot back

If you've not seen it in action, you really can't criticise it. It looks damn good. Especially compared to the iP4 - I think the iP4 looks totally washed out compared to the SIII's screen, but the iP4 has a crisper look when it comes to text.

But, besides from it being a PenTile display, it still looks mind-bogglingly good. It's so rich and the darks are BLACK - Something the One X can't pull off as well. Hell, I want 2x23" Super AMOLED monitors. They need to hurry up and get that technology into monitor form.

In stead of me trying to explain what PenTile means, you're better looking here - PenTile matrix family - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Or doing some Googling to discover any possible advantages to the layout of RG-BG.

For them to (effectively) step backwards, in technology, it seemed a bit daft - But I believe there are a couple of good reasons behind their crazy thinking for opting for the technology:

1) Increased battery life - Uses (around) 50% less power than an RGB display, for the same level of brightness.
2) High definition RGB OLED technology, in excess of 300DPI does not exist - PenTile for 720 HD OLED Smartphones | PenTile Blog

Considering the S3 already has a 2100mAh battery, and the battery life isn't great. I think if they had a 'Plus' display in there, the battery life would be shocking... Else, they'd have to go for a far-thicker phone (1-2mm more?) and put a near-3000mAh battery in. I don't think I'd mind extra beef on the phone. It's so thin and light that they could of dropped 4200mAh of battery in there and I would of appreciated the gesture.. I'm looking for a decent case, right now, to beef up the phone; the one I currently want is only available in the USA - http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Gal...tand-Cases.asp

I could buy it, would cost about the same as when it launches in the UK, I'd just be paying a little extra (shipping), but unfortunately - My address will be changing in a week or two, and I still don't know where I'm going to be living!

Either way, the S3 is an utter beast of a phone, I would recommend it to anyone. I have no complaints in regards to the technology or Droid. The screen looks great; the colours are rich, the blacks are 'dead'. It looks crisp and vibrant. Everything you want/need.

Plus, it's fast... So.. So fast... I've barely noticed any slow-down, and it tears through the benchmark software.

I can upgrade from today & I'm torn between the One X & the SIII. FWIU the One X battery life is inferior but not sure that will be a particularly big problem for me in general. DOn't think the SD card would be either as 32gb should be plenty for me. Depends what the best deal I can get really.

I got the Sony Xperia S back in March and quite like it. I dont mind Android at all and for my needs its a good phone, the camera is great so thats a big plus for me. I might consider going back to an iphone next year but im not too bothered as i have an ipad so get my iOS fix that way.

To be honest if there was a smartphone out there that just did internet, sms and made calls id be happy. I like the wealth of apps android and ios offer but i barely use any of them.

I use to change my phone every 3 months but stopped all that now as i kept swapping for a handset that pretty much did the same. Ive liked trying out all the different OS's and been through them all now besides winmo. Meego (Nokia N9) and webOS (palm pre 2) were great little platforms and in some aspects outdid ios and android but ultimately let down by lack of dev support in there app stores.

Bought myself a 10.1" Lilliput touchscreen to sit inbetween my 2 Dell 30" Monitors, I can run the television/resources on the 10.1" without messing about with information on my main 2 screens. So far, really liking the quality of this screen, not cheap considering it's size but runs completely from the USB for image & power, perfect.

Sorry about the image quality, Iphone 4S doesn't do it justice
