Borderlands 2

Have you guys seen the screens for this game?

BL is one of the best co-op games ever made imo, BUT number 2 looks better and more polished in just about every way.

Cant wait, just need to force myself to finish mad moxxi as well as clap trap DLC before it drops. (Mind you no rush as it is at least 8 months away)

Yeah I saw the screens and teaser trailer for it. I'm keeping a very close eye on this one (along with Diablo 3) because I too absolutely love it. This is quite possibly the best co-op game ever made and one of the best RPG games.

A lot of people berate it because of it's lack of story and it being rather dumbed-down but I'm so glad to be able to play a game whose cut-scenes are actually enjoyable and not just a snooze-fest of over-acting voice-actors and melodramatic/terribly-written plot. The game is genuinely funny and not in a childish Beavis & Butthead kind of way (I'm looking at you Duke Nukem) and it's just so much fun to play.

I've got all the DLC for it and have finished Mad Moxxi and Zombie Island and have just started General Knoxx and then have Claptrap after that. Even the DLC for it is good, well except Mad Moxxi which is an over-long arena mode for very little reward (one skill point??).

Can't wait for this game and it's one that I'll probably buy when it comes out at the normal price rather than waiting for it to be on special offer on Steam.

Its pretty much a shoot everything that moves game.. .but its awesome!! If your not playing Co op your missing out on one of the best online experiences you can probably get. Mind that's if you play with people around the same level. If you play with people a lot higher I didn't think it was as much fun.. but its still awesome and part 2 will be an essential for me.

indeed, I too found this dull by myself, so i teamed up with a mate or 2 and we all started from stratch, only playing together so we leveled up together.

you will be on it a while as well, it is not one of the usual 6 hour games i also backup my save game just in case due to the size of the game, and i have not even started clap trap Dlc yet, i hope this Borderlands 2 is just as good or even better.

You too can help design Borderlands 2. Gearbox Software has invited PC gamers to weigh in on platform-specific options they’d like to see in the forthcoming Diablo-with-guns shooter.

On a recent forum post, UI Design Lead Jason Shields put out the call for suggestions of PC-specific features and “interface niceties” that would improve the game on PC. He doesn’t promise anything grand, but he does say Gearbox will “be putting a lot of effort into properly supporting our PC customers for Borderlands 2.”

The first Borderlands, while lauded for its solid shooting and addictive loot, had a troubled launch on PC. One character’s signature skill simply did not work. The GameSpy-powered networking was unreliable. It also lacked the graphics options to which PC gamers have become accustomed.

Gearbox already announced that Borderlands 2 would support Steamworks, and they are adding it to Borderlands so they can begin tracking player statistics to inform their development process. Borderlands 2 is still a year away, but Gearbox is already doing right by PC gamers by asking them what they missed in the original.

I sent a strongly worded Tweet to Randy Pitchford a few weeks back to make sure he put in some proper PC options. Looks like it worked! :D

There was a slightly stronger worded reply, but you get the gist.

Indeed looking forward to this very much. #1 was ace (expect the ending!). Co-op mode was the best fun I've had in ages.

It seems like they're going to be releasing a patch tomorrow with steamworks integrated into Borderlands 1.
I wonder if this will remove the need for the useless gamespy logging on for co-op etc.
You never know they might even put anti-aliasing in the options menu .

2K Games has said Borderlands 2 will ship with Steamworks on PC. You will also be able to use the Steam Cloud service, and all the other nifty benefits which come along with the DRM people seem to like better than most. Borderlands 2 is out in mid-September.
