That will shave a good five hours off the single player then.

Agree with Arthur. This is sounding more and more like a pass for me.

Sounds AWESOME... I've always wanted that in Mass Effect games :D

Absolutely love co-op if it's the main campaign.

I've always thought it seemed the perfect game for it, with the squad based shooting element and all.

Mass Effect 3's mysterious multiplayer mode has been confirmed to be co-op based missions. The confirmation comes from BioWare's Casey Hudson via Twitter.

"Yes, co-op MP missions for #ME3: they're real, and they're spectacular. Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared. More soon..."

Eerm, feared you would waste development time on a single player centric game with crappy sub games for online just because EA told you to so they could pin their project $10 crap on it.

A marketing ploy to stop second hand sales, nothing more.

EA have turned Bioware into a circus.

I'm thankful its coop multi-player rather than straight up death match at least coop makes sense; you always have a party so why not have the ability to sub them for xbox live friends. You never know it might even be fun coordinating your powers with friends.

Guess we will have to actually have to wait for the game to be released to find out.

So it's not going to impact on the main game and it's characters then. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping they would do.

Mass Effect 3 will have a pre-release demo in January 2012. The demo will have both single player and multiplayer sections, giving fans a taste of what’s to come on 3/6/12.

Some fresh and important Mass Effect 3 multiplayer details has been revealed on game's official Twitter account, ME3News. There is plenty of new stuff, to be more precise with 20 facts about Mass Effect 3 multiplayer portion, to get fans excited.

Check out the details below:

Regardless of class, you can only carry 2 guns at the same time.
Maximum level is 20.
Skill trees (like in single player) will exist.
Only three powers are usable at the same time.
No ring menu, you’ll have to hold the button to swap your weapon.
Passive powers (“durability” for extra health “fitness” for more melee damage)
Krogan charge is an ability. Yes you are kroooogan.
There are 3 difficulties, Bronze, Silver, Gold.
Both main and side missions exist.
Side Missions have time limits such as defusing bombs or hacking computers.
You can revive failed squadmates.
You gain XP by kills, assists, completing objectives, etc.
There is no PvP mode planned because “a believable story wouldn’t make any sense” – Casey Hudson
The third person view is still WIP. (If you play a krogan, he takes the whole screen)
Co-op is only optional, the “perfect” ending is still possible too if you play only the single player.
“War-Assets” are troops, characters and resources from every race that gives you support.
Earned creds usable on weapons and upgrades.
Social games (Facebook, Google+, etc.) are planned for ME3 to increase your “readiness-level.”
Apps for Smartphones are planned to increase your Galactic readiness level.
Each race has different movement options:

Example 1: Humans = side roll
Example 2: Drell = Ninja Jump

Just seems like another dead space 2 situation were EA have asked asked Bioware to bolt on MP so they can chuck in an EA online pass to make some money on the second hand sales.

Seems fair enough really - that's all you get in most multiplayer games. I'm sure you will be able to pick up dropped weapons.

Is anyone else following this leak story. I follow @MassEffectViews on twitter. Looks like they are now rewriting alot of the story after the leak so that we can still get a game that no one has played or knows the full story of.

I really hope this does not push the dates back any further.

I'll still look on a key website to get it for £15. Who cares about a metal tin?
