i think some of the reviewers came from On-board Graphics to Review..

I totally agree mate, I was getting very wound up at the amount of reviews that were benching with old games and running low levels of AA. Fermi seems to eat AA for breakfast.

I am going through all my benchmarks, patience Jonney boy. I have also already done GTAIV which is posted in this thread.

If you look at 8xAa and C16x QAA on street fighter you will see it only takes a 10 frame hit, this is why I am posting this up. To show benches with high levels and max levels of AA unlike the magazines which like to stick to 4xAA. I threw the 0xAA bench in for a laugh.

A nice score but you have 3 gpus, to get that score and its only 16xAA and not C16x QAA. Still nice to see though. Cheers for posting mate.

Has BC2 got a benchmark? Warhead benches coming up next.

One thing these benches dont show is how smooth the gameplay is. I really am loving this card. I also had a go of Batman in 3d last night. I must admit I am impressed with the 3d even if its using the coloured glasses. The colours are effected which is to be expected but it shows what can be done with 3d and gaming. I just wish they could get the shutter glasses working on 60Hz tv's as I would be buying some shutter specs asap.

No, but I guess you could bench it with fraps during the same part of the game as the review sites used.

I noticed you've mentioned smoothness a couple of times. I'm assuming that's because you've come from the dual card that may of suffered from the micro stuttering that they can suffer from?

I am sure some of it was microstutter, but I did run my 4870X2 with one card disabled to test and some games still stuttered or werent as smooth. I also had my 4850 in my main rig for 3 weeks whilst my 4870 was sent away and this was also the same. I think MS does play a small part but I also think that some games just run better on nvidia and some games runs better on ati. So far I havent seen any stuttering on the 480 but I havent played as many games as I did on my 4870X2.

Another bonus is flickering textures which used to happen on BC2, this has completely gone. BC2 was getting to be a bit of nightmare to play on ATI both the 4850 and 4870X2 even with the new patch. I think this is more to do with drivers.

Lastly vsync is a god send, the menus in dirt 2 used to tear like a bitch but the main game was rock solid. Now the menus and full game are smooth.

So just to do with having generally higher fps then. When you post the Crysis and Warhead results can you include the results from the 4870x2 if you still have them?

Can't say I've noticed flickering textures in BC2 , probably due to being running away from gvers all the time!

I did a benchmark using fraps for Bad Company 2 on I think level 2.

Settings: 32xCSAA @ 1080p and all settings on full, HBAO on and these are the results. The 480 was clocked to 825ghz and memory was left at stock.
