Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Part 2)

No lag issues on-line at Surprising 9v9 matches , maps are very well put together, you do notice though once you hit 4v4 .

Some of the Assets are class Sentry Gun is the Future

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Part 2)

Yeah, the sentry gun is pretty awesome!

I do like the emergency air drop perk, gives you 4 air drops at once, meaning you normally get a chopper, air strike, missile all at once.

I also like in this one how is saves your airdrops and perks during that round, rather than COD4 where you got a heli but lost your airstrike.

IW have been very conspicuous in their absence with no official responses at all on the PC version. Their forums are now a complete joke as it appears the only moderating that is done is to delete threads.

With a few tweaks I'm sure the IWnet could work better, but what we all want is dedicated servers. All the things they lauded that would be so amazing on this IW.net compared to dedis are all complete rubbish unfortunately. Even worse if it seems that hackers can send you viruses through it.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Part 2)

Hawklord has already stated this - but it seems Modern Warfare 2 is has now been breached and is now host to virus and trojans. Fairly inevitable IMHO - the P2P matchmaking annoyed many people - it was only a matter of time before they destroyed it.

It looks like it could well be a false positive by avira.

Whilst my initial posts were positive on the IW.net, it is starting to annoy me immensely.

The what can often be 10 or 15 minutes trying to actually get into a game with some mates is a major annoyance. Once you get a game going it is fine and normally it is stable for many rounds, but the initial start up is unacceptable.

The lag is ok most of the time, but with killcam you do notice that on their screen you hadn't even started firing when they killed you, but on yours you were firing away happily but obviously making no effect. This has happened a few times lately.

That would be criminal.

My internet at home has gone down and I tried to play MW2 last night in single player. Steam wont boot up as I have no net connection, even when I try and play the game off the disc. I cant beleive how bad this is, I cant even play my original game in single player as steam needs a connection.

Can you not start Steam in offline mode? I haven't tried for awhile - but as long as you have connected to the internet in the last 30 days or so it will 'allow' you to play your games. It is a pain though - and has bitten me a few times when I have been abroad travelling and just wanted to play a SP steam game. On balance though the auto-patching it offers is a great service!

After 2-3 mins of looking for an internet connection it gave me the option of offline mode. I clicked this and it closed itself down. I retried a few more times and no luck. I wasnt best pleased as I had no net and now I couldnt play MW2 or L4D2.

When i often take my laptop away i have a second steam account I use for CoH and Cod4. When it doesnt detect the inet a pop up box askes to continue in offline or close.

Perhaps look for an answer on steam forums. Maybe a right click the icon option??

That's pretty much why I will not consider the steam option with game purchases. I do not like to be dictated regarding how I am able to play games. I think it's lazy that some game producers just pass it all over to steam, sure it cuts costs and is the easy option but it is a nuisance.

Razors experience is not fact, merly him not figuring something out. It is not easier for developers. And is an awesome, auto updating platform.

If you want a steam vs retail debate, use search function, theres many arguments with the only real negative thing being steams cost. But as you can activate a retail product on steam it negates that point.

I actually really like steam and have never really had any issues with it. Its only since I have upgraded to win7 that I have had a few problems. I dont know why it wouldnt let me log onto steam last night in offline mode.

I gave up in the end and watched a movie.

I had something similar.. net went down while in game, the game froze and i couldnt get out of it without killing the process. When I then tried to launch steam it wanted to download something, but couldnt cos my net was down, so steam couldnt start up. When i tried to run the game directly, it said it couldnt without steam running Pretty infuriating.

Had a load of mw2 games tonight in a party ranging from 5 to 7 players. Unfortunately it seemed to quite often think i was a good host to pick (768k upload), so it was a fairly laggy experience for some :/

Hey get this, just did a check on my download limit and its almost gone. ***!! Ive played 22 on line games of MW2 and if I host a game which I have no control over then the amount of data was 532MB's half a Gig or so!!

Those who have capped download limits just wait for your next broadband bill!

I play 10-12 games in a evening so I will have reached my Download limit in about 10 days!. Thats without any streaming of radio or porn!!

Thanks IWNET for costing us more money won't have any to buy the next game now.

It can be a pain but then the person whose package it is can open it twice as fast as anyone else, so as long as you are waiting for it, you shouldnt have any problem in grabbing your own package. Just don't do as I do, and let the damn thing land on your head and kill you :D
