Modern Warfare 2 problems

Hey guys, as you know i live in japan, i just heard from the shop where i get my import games (US/Asian/EU PC and console games) that MW2 cant be installed/activated because we are in japan.

(Problem with ip?)

has anyone had problems activating the game?

i really want to get this on the pc (rather than the 360 because of keyboard/mouse)

any help appreciated

Yes, it is played through Steam, which is a pain as for some reason my Steam account rejected my password last night and I could not get it reset at all.

One of the many reasons why i went to console. The only game that seems to care about pcs is Crysis...oh wait thats soon to be coming out on consoles too!

Your logic for going with the console version is flawed, as the PC version is still the best available, and also the cheapest

how does a game 'care' about a system?

Does Gears of War sometimes tuck your 360 in at night?
Does Uncharted take your PS3 (slim of course) out for dinner?

anyhoo, AML, seems unofficially that Japanese IP's are indeed banned from activating MW2, so that means no install. If you wanted, you could proxy yourself as a US / UK IP address to get around activation, but you'd only be able to play Single Player

I found info that said you'd be "unbanned" on Dec 23rd; whether this is correct or not I do not know
