buying sims 3 from india?

i'm after sims 3 for the wife for xmas

there seems to be loads on ebay from india..... why? and would they work? i'm not into pc gaming so havent a clue!

if not then what would be the problem if any of buying second hand? cheers!

If its a present for your wife stop being tight and just buy a new copy from the UK. The difference is like £7.

that indian seller looks ok to me, worst case scenario is that it isn't new but the feedback would suggest it is or that it would take over a month to arrive but if that happens just buy a copy in the UK and get a refund.

i'm not being tight as the £7 difference will get her another present

we'd set a limit of £100 on each other this year (as we got married last month so i've now got a £5000 loan to pay off) but i'm already up to £200! i cant help myself! LOL

With a uk version, if it doesnt work, take it back.

You should shove a wanted thread in the gaming section to see if anyone has an unopened copy lying about, prolly save even more money if they do.

Sorry mate but that is tight. Its your wife spend the cash and get her the proper stuff. Saving £7 aint going to buy much in the way of a present.

Problem is it will be in the Indian Language , you need English version ..

I recently bought the Sims 3 off ebay from an Indian seller and the game is perfect, no problems.

I live in Australia and the Sims 3 is $100 AUD but I bought the one from India for $30 (inc. postage) which is a massive $70 saving.

The only issue is that postage time takes a long time, it took nearly a month to get here however it is well worth the wait and saving of $70!

And to correct what namuk said, the game is all in English not Indian.

I came across this thread because I been searching the net about the Sims 3 expansion pack and was wondering If i needed the Indian version of it to run with my game. If I do that's OK because the expansion from India is only $23 AUD (inc. postage).
