COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

Just interested in the numbers of people here who have actually gone through with the order for this and those that moaned about it but still ordered etc.

Made the poll private, so no worries about being called a hyprocit.

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

There would have been a poll but it took me more than 2 minutes to decide on the choices and the computer then said no.

Canceled my pre-order too. Won't ever be giving any money to Infinity Ward again.

Greedy idiots. If we want a fully cinematic experience over great game play... we'll watch a film thanks.

As you probably saw in the other thread - I've already got mine.

Haven't complained too much so far, but am a bit worried about how p2p hosting will really work in practice. Oh well, not too long to find out!

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

Got the PC version this morning and I've moaned abit. Not really about the MP issues but more about the way we PC owners have to wait until Tuesday to play while Xbox & PX3 gamers are already ranking in at level 25

Since my copy is still sealed I might sell it on Ebay and buy the PS3 version BLASPHEMER

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

Kept my pre-order - only ever intend to play SP anyway.

That said I have started to play COD:WAW online and am thoroughly enjoying it so will regret the lack of dedicated servers when the next WWII COD is released

I can't remember the last time I played online in any game.

I hate all the seriousness, I just like messing about online, it's a game not the army.

Indeed mate, online is often full of no life clowns who take it all far too seriously.

I've got the PC version on the way for my birthday and am looking forward to the campaign. COD4 was great and this should be good as well .

The PC version should look the best so no real reason to buy the console version.

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

think people seem to be forgetting they've got to pay for games

seems like the options are

1) buy it and play multiplayer (whats a campaign mode all about?)

2) pirate it and play single player (dedicated servers FTW l33t)

I'm proper looking forward to the story; just played through MW1 again and it's a cracking campaign / story / whatever.

You don't have to buy anything. If folk don't want to pay for something then they can just steal it.

I'm not a thief myself so I buy things, but some folk will always choose the illegal method I guess.

Don't see what the fuss is all about with dedicated servers to be honest. I've spent years playing on dedicated servers (DoD, CS etc.) and they are great, but on the other hand I played loads of COD4 on the 360 (non-dedicated servers) and that was great too.

Worse than any server issues are the tedious folk who take the whole online experience too seriously IMO.

I meant people (no one on here) seemed to be using the excuse of no dedicated servers to justify pirating it, in a roundabout sort of way

It's like going to a car dealer, going to the salesman and saying "I like it, but the fuel economy on it's atrocious, so I think I'll just come back later and nick it"

balls, I sound like one of them "you would steal a granny!..." ad's at the beginning of DVD's

I know what you mean; I honestly don't see what the fuss is about, online should be a laugh, as should gaming in general, so it's gonna wind up people whose lives revolve around clans and whatnot, but they can play something else

To be honest, pirates will always make excuses for their behaviour .

With online, I will stick it on and have a laugh from time to time but that's about it really. Played the first one a fair bit and then moved on when something else came out.

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

I seem to be the only one most annoyed that Treyarch managed to incorporate very nicely into their COD game 4 player co-op, and IW have massively failed in doing the same.

Definitely the biggest disappointment and laziest act on their behalf in my eyes.

Modern Warfare 2 isn't balanced for 4-player co-op

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

It's not balanced for being good.

I played the 350 version today, and it's basically an add-on/bonus missions for MW1. It's exactly the same. Not very impressive at all after 2 years of development.

Didn't think the missions I saw were as good as the first game either.

As you say the pc version will look the best by far, but I'm still tempted to pick up a console version for some light hearted multi-player.

I can't use a keybaord and mouse so online on the pc is a no go.

All I need to do is decide what console to go for.

I sometimes think that pc gaming is looking bleak in someways, I really do think piracy is harming the gaming industry on the pc.

Most devs aren't bothered about the pc, and the pc is really an afterthought for many.

There isn't any real incentive for devs to focus on the pc.

Re: COD: MW2 - Purchased/Cancelled Poll

Cancelled for the console prices (won't pay more than £20 for a PC game), lack of dedicated servers and all the other nonsense. Just looks like it'll be a lazy port and not taking advantage of what the PC can offer.

They'll most likely blame piracy for lack of sales too, when the biggest problem they have is themselves. I can see if just as an excuse to not bother releasing PC games in future with the claim that there's no market for it.

And Left 4 Dead has pretty much ruined multiplayer for every other game, it's too addictive, especially with the sequel coming out soon!

It's a shame though, I really was looking forward to the game, especially the single player... but I'm not paying double the price for half a game, with the multiplayer being as crippled as it is I just won't bother playing it.
