I picked this game up from Amazon for £20 a couple of weeks ago.
It's definitely no classic but it's a lot better than I expected with the emphasis mostly on solving puzzles, sometimes with a time limit, sometimes not, so it at least bears some relation to the movies which it's based on. The opening sequence is really cool though, straight out of the movie, and effectively conveys the sense of panic and sheer terror at trying to beat one of Jigaw's "tests". Audio is also decent with some great voice-acting from Tobin Bell, the guy who plays Jigsaw in the movies.
The game runs on the Unreal Engine 3 but v-sync and anti-aliasing need to be forced otherwise it looks a bit rough and screen tears horribly. The visuals are dark and dirty, like the movies, but animation is a bit poor, especially on the lead character you play. The visuals manage to convey the atmosphere of the movies some of the time (notably during the puzzles) but the wandering around in the dark with a flashlight feels more like Silent Hill, notably the recent Homecoming. The combat feels a little clunky though, mostly thanks to some sluggish controls and a wayward camera, but fortunately it isn't the main part of the game so it can be tolerated. Checkpoints are well-placed so if you should die then you don't have to backtrack very far.
I'd give it 6.5/10. It's not something that anyone is going to remember 18 months down the line and the gore is somewhat tame compared with the movies but it really isn't too bad at all.
