Pro evo 2010

I can't believe there isn't a thread for this.

The pc version of pro evo is always the one to go for due to the massive modding community.

Am I the only one that's looking forward to this?

Re: Pro evo 2010

been playing the demo on the ps3 - can't believe how much they've improved this over 09. it has a very realistic feel to the gameplay and much smoother and graphics notched up too, just waiting for the release now.

Re: Pro evo 2010

Pro lost my heart when the 'next gen' came out. I still find the movement on the players to be very unrealistic. Also, the sound is just rubbish. Pc version is the best by far, as you said you can replace the bits you don't like lol

Re: Pro evo 2010

I tried the PC demo of PES 2010 first and it runs at a silky smooth 60 fps at 1920x1200 on my machine and never falters, not even during the replays. That's on High settings too. It looks a good deal nicer than either the PS3 (too many jaggies) and 360 versions too and works straight away with my wireless 360 controller. Character models and likenesses are superior to the cartoon caricatures that populate the FIFA 10 demo too; it's just a shame that the crowd look so damn awful as do the 2D cardboard cutouts that are supposed to be the TV cameraman and security staff. It would certainly help if the depth of field effect was used constantly instead of intermittently during cinematics and replays!

Still those can be ignored and the game plays smoothly and feels instantly responsive unlike the slightly lethargic, juddery FIFA 10 on the 360 (dunno about anyone else but the engine always feel like its being pushed to its limits on the consoles and never feels 100% smooth to me). Animation isn't as good in PES 2010 and the presentation, although vastly superior to the previous games, still falls short of EA Sports. It's not going to have all the licenses or the leagues either.

FIFA 10 is probably the more complete football package but I think PES 2010 is the more enjoyable and easier to get into game of the two. This year's PES shows considerable improvement in the demo over the last two lacklustre versions I've played on the 360.

Re: Pro evo 2010

P.S. With the 190.62 WHQL graphics drivers, the game ran letter-boxed in a 1920x1080 window with small top and bottom borders at a resolution of 1920x1200. With the latest 191.03 beta ones the game now runs full-screen at 1920x1200 with NO top and bottom borders, however the players look slightly stretched.

Is there no way to have full-screen 1920x1200 and keep the correct aspect ratio? I noticed the Settings file has an option for LB (Letter-box) but on my PC it is selected by default and cannot be deselected. If I uncheck it then click on OK to close the Settings file then the next time I load it the LB setting is checked again. Is this a bug?

Re: Pro evo 2010

FIFA 10 looks awful on the pc so PES is still the one to get!

Ive been playing pes09 again recently and installed some updates that were created just a couple of weeks ago.

Cant get online with it though. Never been able to on the pc. Yes its the original version and i have opened usual ports on my router etc.

Really annoying!

Yeah I've noticed the pc gaming forum is not as 'instant' as the 360 forum in tertms of posts of new demos or releases- I guess cos everyones busy playing cs:source

Yeah I'm massively wanting this and have decide on the pc version as its the best in terms of visuals and like you mentioned the mods will be cool not to forget its gonna be around £18 instead of £40

Re: Pro evo 2010

Seeing as I have a nice new PC, I will be getting this on PC too.

Can't wait and as said above, it will most likely be a good £10 cheaper than the console version.

Yeah it's def the best version.

Runs at 60fps all the time, even in replays.

Noticed the consoles drop to 30fps in replays on pes 2009 for example.

Also the patches out there change the game.

New stadiums, new balls, new pitches, player appearances, even fifa commentary, new goal nets etc.

I've pre ordered from Zavvi (zavvi.co.uk - PES 2010: Pro Evolution Soccer PC). It's £17.80, I think that's the cheapest and I used a £5 voucher won from HUKD so a bargain at £12.80.

I wasn't going to get the game as they have been getting progressively worse in my opinion but if there is a large group of us on here then I may change my mind.

Hopefully there should be a good group of PES players on here. Has it worked well online on the PC in the past. I've only ever bought on consoles previously.

definitely, this is one area I haven't got to grips with on pc over the 360- I need to sort a pc gaming friends list as it would be great to play online.
Is xfire the best option or steam??

Re: Pro evo 2010

Played the demo and it plays just like the console versions. The demo has the slight input lag of the console demos but it has since come out that this has been corrected so that's fine.

Visually there's not much in it as I run the console versions at 1080p as well. That said, it does look sharper so I guess the console versions may be upscaling from 720p. The frame rate is nice and constant and considering the cheaper price and the modability of it, the PC will be the one to get for me.

Cpu Cooler - NH-U9B - £42=PURCHASED
3 x Fan gaskets-£8=PURCHASED
Pioneer Blu-ray Drive £71=PURCHASED
Corsair TX 750W ATX SLI Compliant Power Supply -£95=PURCHASED
Cable ties & thermal compound £6=PURCHASED

So well on the way just need:-

Mobo Asus PT6 Deluxe V2 or D - £200
Memory - OCZ Blade Series 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000 - £103
HDD - Samsung Spin point F3 1Tb - £55
ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics (DX11 next gen)- £300
WIN7 operating system-£80

Sounds like a great setup mate! Got my i5 rig up and running and have OC'd it to 4ghz. Works a treat and plays pretty much everything on full settings at 1080p & 60FPS .

Should be a good bunch of us on here getting this. Can't wait.

Glad to have CAS finally on the pc crew again!
Cheers mate, I have been away too long!

I must say that I tend to dabble about half way through each console gen as you really start to see the gap in quality around that time.

Im glad im having a lull from my console gaming. Not played a game on my ps3 since resi 5 but theres some good games coming up soon so will be glad to have a mix of both.

Love pes09 for the pc but im really crap at it. Find it hard work to score and my defence falls to pieces all the time and leave too many gaps.

Quality feeling though once you pull off a good move!

Should be a good bunch of us on here getting this. Can't wait.
Can't wait matey, I'm just ordering the mobo, cpu etc so want to have it running for xmas (also putting in a new kitchen so funds are limited) I wanted a rig that is going to make use of DX11 for the next 3 years and want to have a good front end for my home cinema/blu-rays etc, so worth spending more now IMO.

I'm just bored of consoles and want something that can show some unique features that they cannot.

I'll get a thread going soon but will look forward to fighting, racing and scoring with you online matey

Re: Pro evo 2010

I've only just got round to trying the demo.

And Pro evo is most definitely back, it looks superb and plays even better.

I can't wait.

The great thing is that the final release is even better! The small input lag is apparantly gone (like the Winning Eleven demo) and I can't wait for this to come out!

I'v e been giving the demo a real thorough play and it really is the pro evo magic all over again for me, and I think it looks amazing.

I can't wait for the modding community to get their hands on it, and make it even better....

When is it due on the pc? End of October?
