March 2006 Winner - Raw

Title due to the fact I've always thought kiwi tasted like strawberry's

Any hoo I was determined to not go with a food shot but time has been running out for the idea's I had in mind so I bottled it and fell in line

Been a slow day so went about making a little still life setup.
Lit with natural light from the kitchen window, helps show the texture and seeds off better I think.

For those interested the kiwi is hanging from a peg thats actually attached to a screw driver pushed through an empty can of carling that I then filled with water, no honest its the truth I took piccy's to prove it if no one believes me

The back drop is the black fleecy lining of my coat and the droplet is in fact sugar water as regular water fell off too quicky.

Techie bits

I hate to be a party pooper . . but

It sure is a nice photo, but from research into the definition of RAW which can be found here is accurate, I'm not convinced fruit(s) and most of the entries for this months comp fall into the category!

Update: I stand corrected on the 'fruit' category.

That is a stunning shot Zone - a belter. It is the kind of thing you'd see in a magazine - a real pro job. Not so keen on the frame though - I think it would look perfect without the thin green frame...but what's inside the frame is top quality

No probs Si, it is a personal thing, personally I like a picture to be framed, the thin green line echoed what was going on in the main pic so seemed to fit in nicely

Beautifully lit.... and to my taste I think the frame is an enhancement, particularly because of it's colour.

I was intending to remark positively about it even before I saw that Electrolyte didn't like it.

Obviously these things are very much down to personal taste.

Seriously good shot - almost makes you want to eat it (even if the seeds will get stuck in your teeth).

Right that's it, I'm not bothering this month.

Great shot Si, the colours are so crisp, nice crop and the border suits really well.

Intriguing how the border seems to be splitting us down the middle.

fantastic shot. again I';m torn as to whether the border is a good or bad thing. Some days I think yeah it works and others I don't. Now I know you're going to say that it was your intention as it would mean people would keep coming back to it!!!!!
