Cleared for Landing...

Well, here's my stab this month. A bee coming in for landing on some flowers. I would have liked to have got a bit more movement in the wings but I must have taken some 400 shots or so to get one I like and I think enough is enough!

The ones I got with more wing movement suffered with being too bright or having worse arrangement, e.g the bee was sitting and not in flight or showing me it's behind - those bees just did not cooperate at all. I suppose I could've waited and tried some more but we have thunderstorms forecast for the next week or so, so my opportunities might be resticted. Besides, I've already seen some of my ideas used by others so lets get this in while I still can!

No processing other than a crop and resize. Hope you like it.

Thanks for your comments chaps.

Yeah, 400 or so over a couple of days. they soon add up when on the fire three shots at a time setting, but at least 300 of them were of nothing but blurred images, bees behinds or no bee at all. They move so quickly that by the time I had focused... they'd gone! And I tried focusing on a particular flower and waiting but as is sods law, no bee turned up until I got bored and looked for a different flower.

I know exactly how you feel, having tried (and given up on) this shot myself. What's with this random flight pattern thing anyway?! Nice shot - patience rewarded.

I reckon that 400 shots to get 1 deserves a prize all by itself!

Difficult to everything right with a shot like this and your efforts have been well rewarded. Nice capture........eventually
