Caught this as I wandered around Cambridge this evening, first time I had tried the nifty fifty (1.8) on my D700, nice combination I think.

1/320th at F2 with 50mm lens on D700, ISO 1600.

Nice use of the shallow DOF, but I would have cropped out that black bit at the bottom.

I can't quite make my mind up about this one TBH - I like the composition as well as the concept - and the DOF works really well but it's almost "Mono" in appearance to me..... overall I "think" I like it

And until John went and mentioned it I hadn't even noticed the black intruder at the bottom - now he has I can't stop looking at it
