Very Appletising - nice capture not so sure about the crop - can't quite make my mind up about the amount of black above the apple.....

i like the crop but i hate those apples, they are mushy and the skin feels like wax.

Re: An Apple A Day...

Personally I would like to have seen more of the reflection and slightly less negative space above the apple.

Its also maybe just a little too simple for me, maybe if the apple had a bite out of it the tooth marks etc would have made for a more interesting picture.

It doesn't really say 'Dinner Time' to me either but it is a nicely lit well executed shot.

Thanks for the C&C. I'm still happy with the composition (but understand the comment), for me the negative space above makes the colour and vibrance of the apple a little more striking. I didn't want to include too much of the reflection or a bite mark etc, a little bit too cliche for what I was after - I wanted this to be simple and more about getting the lighting and composition right...

Re: An Apple A Day...

I really like this shot, I like the composition even the extra black. It doesn't really shout dinner time to me but its there if you think about it.

Re: An Apple A Day...

Qiute like the shot and even though it is a healthier option than my entry, I am not sure it is on theme either.
