Re: I summon the power of the fork

I like that one - if only she's had a big fat chip on it !

....it reminds me somehow of a scene in the first Harry Potter Movie where Harry is trying out the Magic Wands - so I guess the title works

....I guess it's "White Magic" then ?

Re: I summon the power of the fork

Excellent try at doing something different. Like shotokan101, I think it would have looked better if there was something (like a chip!) at the end of the fork, which would have made the shot for me. I know that you cannot control these things with candid shots and I really appreciate you not photoshopping something in.

I like how you have used the least depth of field you could to blur the background, which could have been very distracting, given the environment. Ideas for improvement from the top of my head are perhaps that you could have cropped a bit more at the top of the shot and sharpened her face more to make the image of her 'pop' from the background. I really like this one.

Re: I summon the power of the fork

Thanks all for the positive feedback - this could be my best entry so far!

With regard to the comments about something on the fork, I was particular to avoid such a shot as I wanted the fork to be the main subject rather than a chip or whatever.

Re: I summon the power of the fork

A well seen and taken candid photo. The DOF blurs what would be a distracting background. As others have said, if there had been something on the end of the fork it may have made it better, but as it is this leaves you wondering what's she eating?

Ian.
