Re: Just forks.....

This is a good simple, and striking, image. The use of just black (background) and white (forks) is striking. I really like the reflection too. The only question mark in my mind is the presence of noise on the fork handle, as if the photo has been taken at relatively high ISO.

Re: Just forks.....

Thanks Mark - glad you like it

Regarding the image noise - I can't check the EXIF info till I get home unfortunatley but as it was taken using the on-camera flash I'm pretty certain that the noise isn't due to a particularly high ISO setting - unless I've forgotten to reset the ISO from some earlier alternative shots

I don't even have access to the origianl image till I get home either so I can't check if it's present there or if I've accidentally added it either during PP/Crop/Resize or it's crept in on the upload to Photobucket.....

Anyhow I'l check it tonight so thanks for raising that

Jim

Re: Just forks.....

agreed re the above, the reflection 'makes the shot' for me and its uncluttered which I also like. Good entry Shame about the noise.

Cheers - I've had a think about this and I'm thinking of simply adopting the approach of "I added it deliberately to enhance the artistic effect....... and failed miserably"

Jim

EDIT: Can someone let me know if the EXIF info is embedded in that upload ? - Thanks

Not sure Cherokee - at home I use the Opanda EXIF plugin for firefox/IE and you can then just right-click on the inline images on webpages and it pops up with the info...

Thanks for that - a) Didn't think the ISO was that High and b) didn't think the noise would be that noticeable at ISO 400

I'm still sticking with "Artistic Noise" - like "Film Grain"

Re: Just forks.....

...36 of them if I counted correctly. As other have said I like Nd think the reflexion makes the photo.

Ian.

P.S Like the "Fork Lift - Fork Lift" photo in the not valid thread.

Thanks Ian - much appreciated

...scuttles of to check Ian's arithmetic - assuming he's not going by the image numbering of course
