Another turning point....

...... a fork stuck in the road

After laying on a muddy grass verge I finally got the photo I was happy to enter. A plastic fork stuck in a fork in the road!

Minor adjustments to levels, and conversion to B&W.
Exif should be intact.

Any constructive comments welcome

I really love the idea here. It's great in monochrome, because the plastic fork really stands out. The only thing I'm not sure about in the placement of the fork, with the grass in the background. I wonder what it would look like looking down the road with the fork placed in the middle of the road - something like this which I saw recently. Probably too dangerous!

I like the idea - in fact I've just crossed it off my list - but I'm not sure that the angle is right - I was thinking of perhaps taking it from a higher perspective and perhaps showing some road markings.

The mono works will though.

Re: Another turning point....

Not sure I follow? Maybe it's not too clear in the photo, but the fork is on a fork in the road (i.e a V), with the road going to the left and right. >- (EDIT: @ MARK800)

I will post some taken from a higher angle in the Not Valid section, and I hope you'll agree this is the better photo.... hopefully lol

I think that's the point - from that viewing angle there's no way you could tell that it's a fork in the road @ a fork in the road.....

Great idea and the mono works a treat. But....

I have to agree with Jim and Mark. It looks like you've put at the edge of a road next to some grass and not at the V of a fork so the impact is lessened.

Re: Another turning point....

Thanks for the comments. Maybe it's just because I was physically there, but the fork is literally on the "V" of the road, and in the photo you can see the road going both ways.
I had a lot of fun taking it. I'm glad people like the idea, and the B&W, it makes my muddy combats and gravel-cut elbows worth it

Re: Another turning point....

I like it but without you telling me theres a fork in the road I would just assume its a plastic fork sticking in the road, you could be right about the angle not showing it clearly. Good entry though

Re: Another turning point....

Good entry, and I can see where you were coming from, but the low angle just doesn't show the "real" fork in the road.

Ian.

I see the "real" fork seems to have been lost to a degree. Hopefully just as a "fork in the road" it retains enough of the theme to be credible.
