The last forums update now allows guests to also vote and obviously this doesn't log a user name against the vote.
For any other poll this wouldn't be an issue but as we don't allow forum members to vote for themselves in the competition then I'm having to treat the fact that guests can vote a little differently!

oh, its closed, silly me thought it was end september but still couldnt get my ideas of about 50 lenses together (Glass) tried 2 camera shops and they both politely refused to play ball

jumpt_upmunky for me this time, an early favourite I love the colours and composition. I always find it hard to choose, ones for me that stand out are-
iandrews, very dark side of the moon!
Lewis, great splash but it was so pretty I think it distracted from the gass theme.

Mark, lovely shot and colours

Tough call, but finally I opted for Martin.D as it was just so different.
I love deep saturated colours, and I was very impressed by jumpt_upmunky and Butch499. The image from kraiklyn was amazing - I never seem to spot sights like that.

some of my favorites are kraiklyn, tracymae, netronelson, and jumpt_upmunky.

had to go with iandrews in the end.. Great shot that shows a very interesting property of glass

jumpt_upmunky for me but so many good one it was difficult - liked Orbital Pete's take on the subject and traceymae's too - really liked butch499's entry but didn't make me immediately think "Glass".

Tough one this month, was between iandrews, lewis201 and jumpt_upmunky

eventually went for jumpt_upmunky, love the halo of light surrounding the marbles, the colour and the feeling of the whole shot.

I went for jumpt_upmunky too. Voting was not easy as I'm travelling and the hotel public internet is broken. Managed to convince a guy who normally arranges excursions to let me use his connection.

Some really good photos, It was between kraiklyn, jumpt_upmunky and tracymae for me. In the end I voted for kraiklyn.

Btw, are you an Iain M Banks fan kraiklyn?

Pixelpidgeon for me. I don't know if it was intended but I liked the "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" aspect of the glass being ground down by the sand it came from.
And the simplicity of the shot.

I did try a few shots this month, I thought the inside of a half full bottle bank would make an interesting shot, lots of colours and shapes. Unfortunately, getting the lighting right proved an insurmountable problem.

Tough month, but it came down to a few for me. Tonkie I loved except it should have been a tighter crop, same with kraiklyn (although coming back to it again, and again, maybe this crop works pretty good), goso, so good except the extra shadow of the holding hand is just getting in my way (probably not much to be done about that), jumpt_upmunky just fabulous, but in the end Butch499, take a bow - this is excellent in so many ways.

Good comp entries this month, going to see a lot of almost there's I think!

Was very close between jumpt_upmunky, Lewis201, tracymae and bodoman for me - went for the marbles in the end, but good entries all round.

Not had much chance to comment on the entries this month again, but well done to all those who entered

Yet again some very good entries, more than normal.So with the very high standard of this months it has made it more difficult to pick a winner.

So I made a short list of 4, they are Jumpt_upmunky,Amgard, Tracymae(again) and Tonkie(me) but as I cant vote for me,I have gone for Jumpt_upmunky for the simple reason, as soon as I saw it I said WOW.

Good month with lots of good entries. I thought that may be more building / architecture shots which is one of the reasons I did the shot I did, but then again living / working in London I may be used to all te glass building around that may not be so prominent in other parts.

Anyway, in the end I voted for pixelpidgeon. Simple but effective, with the sand giving a good texture, and having a good DOF.

Hi there!

As I was lucky enough to be able to set the theme choice this month, I felt I should try and comment on every entry. It was great to see new participants and I hope they will feel encouraged to keep entering the comp. It was nice to see some 'old timers' back again!

So in the end it was down to making a long short list. For me these were the best entries this month: Lewis201, tracymae, Jonstone, Habanero, ianandrews, jumpt_upmunky, electrolyte, mark800 and lechacal. Excellent shots, folks!

Then I had to choose, and based on the theme, I think Jonstone, electrolyte and jumpt_upmunky captured the essence of glass in an tactile form, and of those I chose electrolyte: a subtle and artistic image with great dof control

Well done everyone, looking forward to the next one already..

Hard choice this month, but had to go for netronelson. Really pleasing to the eye, and a very difficult shot to get right. (for me anyway)

Another month passed another none entry from me .

I had a great I dea and went to photograph it, and found the glass building I wanted to shoot was surrounded by cranes and workmen. I've not had chance to get back there before the end of the comp, sure I could've shot something else, but I didn't. MUST TRY HARDER NEXT MONTH!!!!!

Anyway I digress. I voted for Lewis201 this time. I like the way he's captured the splashes and stuff. - Lewis forgive my inarticulateness but I feel ill.

Can only echo what's already been said - some really fantastic entries this month. In the end my vote's gone to Martin.D as I really loved his image from the moment I saw it.
