I'm always looking for glass pebbles on the beach, I have collected a few myself.
I like the texture contrasts here, very zen.

I like it! Reminds me of hunting for glass on the beach down at Beer & Branscombe in Devon on family holidays when I was a kid.

cheers surprising how much smooth glass is amongst the pebbles and shells. Like your glass sky scraper and reflection by the way. Quote:

Nice shot, but maybe the main object is a bit too central?

cheers . yes i agree. I maybe could have cropped it more tighter and squarer as the pictures contents are pretty basic and minimal. Quote:

I like this one too. Perhaps adding a vignette around the edge of the frame would have improved the central position.

cheers I am just starting to read up on photography, but havent got to the various post processing techniques as yet.
I have a lot to learn. Am enjoying it so far though and finding the insperation provided by the photographers on this forum very helpful.
I will have a play on picassa though for fun. p Quote:

I should maybe have included some blurred landscape in background to maybe give the glass subject a more 3d appearence. Quote:

Like that this is different subject for the theme, but could have been a lot more with a bit of composition in it. Otherwise it doesn't do too much. Try a square crop, off-center with a light throwing the shadow up and away from it?

Thanks for your ideas. I havent really got to lighting yet...but i'll let you know when i get there
I did have a quick play with picassa's utilities yesterday. Even though i believe its basic it did give some
interesting effects. p Quote:
