My World

There is this glass vase that normally sits un-noticed in a cabinet in our hallway. I decided to take a picture of it, and so took it outside. Something very nice happened, I got much brighter colours in the piece, and an interesting reflection of the garden and sky too: my little world.

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 0.02 sec (1/50)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 80 mm
ISO Speed: 200

Thanks for looking...

Re: My World

that really is a good picture! I like how it has 2 levels, you look quickly and it is a decent picture of a vase, then you look more closely and it is a VERY good reflection.

Re: My World

The vase is superb and the reflection is fantastic.

The background could have been a little more blurred or less busy for me but that would be ultra picky. I prefer the background and general composition in the first shot in your flickr stream, but then the reflection wasn't nearly so good so I see why you chose this one.

Great shot

Re: My World

Colours are fantastic throughout the shot, managing to hit most of the spectrum!

If i was being overley critical.....

i would of chosen a different base to rest the vase on as the grey doesn't lend it self to the rest of the image. Of course, it would of been difficult to get the reflection you wanted then....tricky!

Re: My World

Nice blue hues and reflection, well spotted using the vase, I hope you apprecicate it a little more now!

.....now if only there was a reflection of a hot air balloon in the vase that would be perfect

Re: My World

While I agree about the wall (perhaps it would look better with the top of the wall covered in leaves?), this is a brilliant photo. I love the colours and the colours of the background. Superb bokeh too. The reflections are the icing on the cake.

Re: My World

Lovely photo of the vase, like the bright colours and the reflexion, like how the sun is quite low, with just a bit of cloud, and how the reflected tree branches frame it. However I'm not sure about the rest of the photo, for me, I just don't think it goes on the wall with the trees behind.

Ian.

Re: My World

Great colours on the vase and fab reflection. Agree with the others on the background though. Good entry nonetheless.

Re: My World

That's a great vase. And the reflection, subject and framing, looks fabulous. Think this is my favourite so far (but not all the way through the entire thread yet!)
