Important
The last forums update now allows guests to also vote and obviously this doesn't log a user name against the vote.
For any other poll this wouldn't be an issue but as we don't allow forum members to vote for themselves in the competition then I'm having to treat the fact that guests can vote a little differently!

Personally I found it very difficult to think of anything to fit the theme, thats why you got the weak effort of mine, if my daughter was not sixteen and did not have an attitude I might have been able to get a shot of her eyes cause she has the most beautiful ones.
Having said that there were some very good entries as per norm, so my pick went down to 3

It was between Tarmoo and Butch for me. I dont think very many were on theme tbh, but dont get me wrong, I think there are alot of fantastic photos but to me they dont say beauty. anyway despite how much I liked Tarmoo's it has to go to Butch from me

I hate voting, there are so many good entries choosing one is torture. My top 3 (in no particular order) are - Jack the lad for his zen-like quality, JoMike for his stunning hoverfly, and Butch for his pensive beauty, it looks like it could be straight out a magazine

I also love-
Liquid for the great contrasting colours
Cyberkid for the creativity.
Biscuit tremendous shot.
iandrews for getting into the spirit of things.
tonkie for just getting spirit (or is it beer )

Had Jack the lad posted the colour version he would have been a claer winner for me but this time I am going to go for Butch!

Good work everyone for actually having a go! More than I managed...

Butch and Biscuits were close seconds for me. Biscuits especially I liked. However, as soon as I saw Tracymae's shot I thought is was on topic and well executed. So it got my vote.

Tough choices once again. There are many great entries.

My top 3 were:

Jack the Lad - great composition
kraiklyn - great shot. love the tight crop

but had to go with Butch - I think fits the theme perfectly...

came down to butch499 or orbitalpete for me. In the end decided on butch499 because i like the way the whole picture seems to add to a story behind it.. both great pictures as well as all the rest. Very inspiring. Im looking forward to learning more about the art of photography. Friends just bought me a book.

A difficult choice this month...
Loved Kraiklyns cat...nice close crop and the detail in the whiskers/hair, Jack the lad...aweseme, peaceful shot beautifully executed. Jonstone - a beautiful little girl in a beautiful place and alsp Tracymae for an unusual shot!

My vote went to Kraiklyn for a beautiful cat shot!

Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder so there was only one winner for me, traceymae.

Well done to everyone who entered - it's more than I managed. This is now the 3rd month in a row I haven't entered. I must enter next month.

The three in the middle of the page did it for me - tracymae, jomike and Butch499 - all great for different reasons, so quite difficult to choose. love the colours and clarity of jomike's, the hint of a story lurking in Butch's, but tracymae's overall creativity and capture did it for me. Excellent!

Wish I had some time these days to take the camera out for something a little creative, here's hoping next month's theme fits in with my travel plans.

Where has the month (and Summer) gone. Haven't had time to comment this month, sorry.

Anyway the ones that make my top list are:

Biscuit761: May be a copy, but very well done.
Mart_73: Lovely fireworks, and for a 25 sec exposure quite sharp.
tracymae: Great idea. I was going to try and get a reflection in an eye, and yours has worked well.
Butch499: Great capture, there is just something about it. It's almost telling a stoty, but what, is she waiting for someone, is she happy, is she sad.

In the end I went with Butch499.

Wow, that was a close run again! Thanks to everyone that voted for my photo, it's really appreciated, believe me! And that, of course, includes tracymae, who's lovely image was so close to the top of the voting at the end of the day. I was pipped on a tie-break once before, and I thought 'here we go again'....

About your photo: it's a nice shot but in my opinion, too 'personal'. By that, I mean it deserves a place in a family album, but is difficult for others viewing it to relate too. I hope that's fair advice, and in any case look forward to seeing the next entry from you JP!
