Well thank God for bank holiday lieu days. My copy of SCII for the cube arrived today, and very tasty it is too. Lots to unlock, and the weapons do make a tangibly large difference in the way the game plays.

Gets the thumbs up from me, but I'm not going to write any more, as I'm off to continue playing.

Being an avid fan of the PS1/Dreamcast version I would advise a rental before buying.

This is especially true for the Gamecube version, the Gamecube controller is just not cut out for fighting games. The game is not significantly different from the versions above and the story mode is not that exciting.

It is also flawed by having a control system which allows you to continually pull off silly moves. You shouldn't use it, but sometimes it is a little tempting

The graphics are lovely, however I was really disappointed by the game in single player, my flatmate is on holiday so I haven't had chance to play multi properly yet.

Perhaps if you have an alternative controller for the cube it would be a lot better.

You can get adaptors that let you use PS2 controllers with a Gamecube.

why've you got two ps2's??

i presume you've got two xboxes as one for live and the other chipped?

I have all 3 versions (as well as the DC original) along with Hori Arcade Sticks for a 3 consoles (and a Sega Arcade Stick for the DC).

When I don't use the sticks I find that the Gamecube controller is by far the best. I dislike the s-contoller buttons for multiple button presses (throws) and the analogue stick is too loose.

The Dual Shock 2 is better with good buttons but, again, the analogue stick is too loose.

I would just like to retract my previous comments!

I have started using the digital pad and swapping the keys to the B configuration. Since doing that I have really started to enjoy the game. The Weapon master is a lot larger than before and is quite interesting with the different challenges.

guys help - i can't decide between the cube or xbox version - by any chance is the cube version widescreen?? i know there are very few widescreen titles on the cube but i can only hope!

Soul Calibre is widescreen and Progressive Scan, BTW i have 9 cube titles so far and they are all in widescreen.
