another gc component question - will interlaced modes work?

I recently bought a BenQ FP241W monitor, which has connections for every AV cable I know of apart from RGB scart. I'm wondering if my GameCube will work with it though - I've tried it with composite, and that's fine if a bit fuzzy, but I want to try component - though I have no knowledge of these kinds of cables

I think my GC is compatible. It's DOL-001 Europe, and has the 2 serial ports and the high speed port. So, will it's normal interlace 50/60hz resolutions work through component? I'm not too fussed about progressive - I don't think the GC's resolutions will mesh well with the monitor's resolution anyway, I just want something that's sharper and more vibrant than composite

cheers

Re: another gc component question - will interlaced modes work?

The component cable works fine with 480i & 576i modes, as long as the display accepts interlaced video over the component socket. As long as on the back of your Gamecube you have Power, AV Out & Digital out the component cable will work fine, though you need to use the original AV cable to supply audio
