60Hz on a Sony LCD TV problem

I set F-Zero GX to 60Hz on my gamecube when I bought it yesterday on my Sony Bravia LCD. There was a strange shake on the images and the picture was shaking at the bottom of the screen. Is this something that all LCDs do (i.e. they do not accept 60Hz input)??

Any help appreciated!!

Re: 60Hz on a Sony LCD TV problem

I don't have that game but I've played quite a few gamecube games set at 60Hz on my Dell LCD and all have displayed perfectly. Sorry but I have no idea what could be the problem there.

No that is not a common problem at all.

Can't understand why you are experiencing that problem.

Re: 60Hz on a Sony LCD TV problem

My Sony TV is not compatible with 60Hz via RGB scart.
I suspect your Sony isn't too.

There is an answer.

Get yourself a Wii and connect via component and it will work fine with 60Hz.

Or get a component lead for your GC at great expense.

What Sony TV is it, as I thought most if not all modern Sony TV's could handle a 60HZ signal?

Mines a year old and won't touch 60Hz via scart.

Re: 60Hz on a Sony LCD TV problem

Sorry to hear that, it was just a presumption from me that in this day and age modern LCD TV's wouldn't have a problem with the 60HZ signal. With regard to the original OP as someone else said maybe Component would be the way to go even though the GC Component cable isn't the easiest or cheapest thing to get hold of.

Re: 60Hz on a Sony LCD TV problem

Have you seen the price of GC component cables?? They are worth more than the GC consoles now

Re: 60Hz on a Sony LCD TV problem

Is the TV perhaps just PAL60 capable or simply not set to accept NTSC input? I think I remember reading that a PAL GC did not output 60Hz as PAL60 but as a true 60Hz NTSC signal. Isn't that why Freeloader works so easily? Whatever, this issue sounds odd because if the TV wasn't 60Hz capable it should be very obvious. The whole screen should scroll/flicker or refuse to display. How is it via composite AV cables rather than RGB SCART?

On the GC component cable subject: I know they're expensive but does anybody know where you can buy one now. Play-asia are out of stock and, excluding e-bay, I can't find another retailer who has them.
