Another Gamecube LCD TV connection problem - sorry!

I've just bought a Sony KDL46S2010 LCD TV and I can't get a sensible picture out of my Gamecube. I've read all the other posts and I'm not sure if this is the same problem. At the moment I'm just using the red/yellow/white leads (posts re composite cables duly noted - I might go down that route later.) My X-box connects fine, but the Gamecube picture is really bright, virtually unusable as the colours just blend together. However if I use a splitter so that the cube is connected to both the LCD TV and my old CRT TV at the same time then the picture is fine on both TV's. It almost seems as though there is 'too much signal' coming through (apologies for my dimwit terminology.) I dug out an old N64 cable and this works fine with the cube, however if I use the cube cable with the N64 the problem is back. So it sounds like a problem with the cable but I have tried 2 different cube cables and neither works. I am also having the same problem with a kiddies V-Smile Baby console (you gotta start them young!) and this has a built in cable that I cannot change. I really want to make sure there is nothing wrong with my TV, or perhaps there is a setting I need to change somewhere. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jo

I'm having similar LCD connection issues (everything turns green) but as it occurs on all AV inputs, it's been identified as a TV issue (Sagem) with the auto-switching thingy. Whilst I'm waiting for an engineer visit, am getting round it for now by manually switching to AV source. Switching off and back on again worked also.

Realise this doesn't help you much though.

Another thing to maybe do is have a fiddle with the picture settings in the menu. I know on my Sony TV when I purchased it everything was on the vivid setting which is fine for the bright lights and glare of an electrical shop, but retina burning in the confines of your lounge, tweak the backlight down, ditto for the brightness and contrast. On my TV now I think every input going into it is tweaked differently to suit the appliance.

PS Treat yourself to a Scart lead or Component (if your feeling flush ) as composite is the least satisfactory of the picture outputs.
