GC Component Cable

Hi All,

I know this has been bounced around for along time but I wanted to know if anybody knows where to get hold of a resonably priced GameCube Component Cable. Ebay are ~£40. A webiste sells it for £50 and feel on principle that this is far to much to pay seeing as though the console only cost me £35!

Does anybody have a cable to sell (~£20) or can anybody point me in the right direction of a stockist!

Regards
aMaTuRePrO

Man, I'd like to know of a decent priced supplier too. The difference between RGB and Component is not worth £40....

Re: GC Component Cable

the main problem is that the cables weren't all that cheap to start with.

you could try play-asia. last time i looked they were out of stock but i got mine from them for about the £25 - £30 mark (which I think was slightly below rrp).

ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Official-Ninte...em180057829971

less than 10min. £25 would be you're best price atm for one of these.

Are you serious?

Man avforums is a dangerous place. I swear I've spent much more than I would have done had I never heard of it.

Re: GC Component Cable

if you can get one for less, then it's better value, but if i was buying again, i'd pay £40 for one

Re: GC Component Cable

yeah unfortunately a no go. Shame, since the N64, Snes and GC all used the same connector.

Re: GC Component Cable

From what I've read in the past, the GC component cable had a chip in the connector (which is why its so big) and that is what bumped up the cost of the cable originally. I dont think anyone ever released a 3rd party cable so you are now stuck paying a premium for the few cables that either never found or a home or are now being released back into the wild. I just couldn't justify the price so I bought a RGB scart cable as the UK cube didnt have that many progressive scan titles. If you have a US console or US games though then it probably is worth the expense.
