which region games for an HDTV

Hello there,
Just after some advice,
I'm getting an HDTV soon and want to start using my cube on it.
It is a UK Resi 4 cube which has the digital out socket on the back.
What is the best way to connect it to an HDTV?
If I can use a component lead with my console will PAL games be able to use the extra quality that it will give?
Thanks in advance,
Rob.

Component is the best connection possible. With PAL games you will notice an improved pic quality but you will not get progressive scan image from the PAL discs. You need a freeloader and NTSC game disks to get progressive scan as the PAL versions have prog scan disabled. That's my understanding anyway.

So Component + NTSC games (with freeloader) = Best PQ

Cheers mate.
I've been reading back through the old posts for a couple of hours and you are right.
I should have done a search!
Thanks again,
Rob.

There is very little difference between component interlaced and RGB scart.

The only way to benefit from having the component cable is to either buy a USA Cube or use freeloader with a US game on a UK Cube.

You will then be able to output 480p.
