gamecube memory card

A nice simple question hopefully. I need a memory card for my gamecube, are the large capacity cards safe and reliable or should I go for a standard Ninty version?
Any recommendations of brands to consider?

Cheers, Mylo

I have heard reports of 3rd party cards having problems with certain games. I would definately only go for Nintendo brand peripherals.

No probs with my Ninty card. I'm not sure I could handle worrying about losing my Golden Mario Kart

Stick with Nintendo memory cards and you won't have a problem. Try and get a memory card 1019 though instead of the smaller sizes (1019 blocks as opposed to 251, which is the largest you can buy in Europe)

They're import-only atm but they will work on a PAL machine without any problems.

I currently have only saved NTSC games on my nintendo memory card, but I just got a few PAL games and I´ve heard that if I save them to the card then the NTSC saves might get deleted. Is that true?

I have a "SD Memory card T series 256 MB), and there´s a pic of the gamecube on the cover, can I somehow use that??

I haven't had a problem with it yet, my PAL Mario Golf TT saves sit happily with my NTSC Crystal Chronicles saves. The Card was originally formatted in NTSC.

keyser - I thought the SD adapter cards could only be used with specific games with the SD logo and not for saves, just transfer of pictures and so on to a PC. Personnaly, I use small '4gamers' cards one for each game and have had no problems.
