Re: COD6 on 360 or PS3?

The 360 version is better in a few ways:

Lens of Truth » Blog Archive » Head2Head – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Analysis : Just telling the truth

Plus if you have friends that have 360s then surely thats the deciding factor

If you have friends with 360's then you should know the answer.

If your fussed about the visuals buy the PC version. The console versions are laughable in comparison.

Otherwise if you will play online buy the one your mates will be playing. If not buy the version for the console with the controller you prefer.

Re: COD6 on 360 or PS3?

- How much would it cost to build/buy a gaming PC that would run COD MW:2 better than a 360? At approx £150 the xbox is a bargain.

Agreed the PC version will be better but at what cost - I bet the graphics card needed to run this would cost on its own more than a 360!

Spot on mate.
In fact the latest COD MW2 will push all graphics cards to the limit, and you would probably spend upwards of £300 to get a decent up to date card that will handle it properly.

The OP asked PS3 or 360.
Not PC. lol

Isn't one of those images over 18s too?

So why did you bring up the pc then in your post?

As for the screen grabs being over 18 are you having a laugh or what?

Seeing as you are picking holes with my posts again, your post couldn't be more wrong even if you tried? You can run MW2 flat out on a pc with a £70-80 card like a 4850 or 4770. Even a 3 year old 8800GT will max out MW2.

No its not hard and I answered that at the bottom of my post.

Other people brought up the pc and you dont quote them in your post.

Also why have you deleted my post?

Because someone posted about being fussed about visuals and spending on a rig, it was statement about the cost of better visuals (PC) compared to running a console.
It wasn't an invitation to Console VS PC, which TBH goes on nearly every thread on here and some are sick of it.
Nothing personal Razor.

I wasn't intending it to be a pc vs console thread. I too am sick of those as the answer is simple and straight forward. Most of the arguments come from those with little or no experiance of both platforms.

I was mearly correcting your post as was Uridium (whos post has also been deleted ). I posted at the very bottom of my now deleted post that the OP should get it on the 360 as thats what his friends mainly have. But that info is now gone due to it being deleted.

To the OP the differences between the to are minor so go with the platform where you are going to have the most fun online ie with your mates.

Anyway I am outta here.

It's not hard - but why not discuss the full options/scenerio? The OP's question has more or less be answered - and will continue to be by others who post - so why not help others wanting an answer to the same question who may want to consider the PC? Especially as MW2 has very low PC specs...

Alas I can't help but feel this forum is very 360 biased. There is a large 360 crowd that shout down the PS3 team (sometime rightly, sometimes wrongly) but absolutely hate it if someone comes up with something better. Sorry but if we have versus threads then why not make them 'all format smackdowns' - at least this way everyone knows what they are buying and it's pros and cons.

I'm not even sure why this thread is even open any more. The OP made his mind up at 6.28 yesterday evening

Someone should be able to ask for opinions on one console or the other's latest title without , oh here BTW there is a thing called PC gaming.
Everyone has a pc, not everyone uses it for gaming.
There is a section on here for that, you don't see many 360/PS3 owners hijacking PC threads and saying "get the console version, it's easier to use".

As you say everyone has a PC - is it then wrong to point out they may be able to play it with better graphics, better playability and more options on that machine? Don't get me wrong, PC gaming isn't for everyone (thank goodness) but what's wrong with allowing people to make an informed decision? It only takes for the OP to say 'no thanks I'll stick to the consoles'. Surely none of us have any financial stakes in what platform people play on - so what does it matter if people are given the full picture? What are you afraid of.

Actually we do - he is a cross to be beared - but thankfully he is very ignorable. I would also like to point out this section is 'Other Gaming Chat' - it is multi-platform - and whether you like it or not PCs are the biggest gaming platform.

Re: COD6 on 360 or PS3?

Yes the OP did ask whether to buy on PS3 or 360 but the first response he had from Baldybouncer reffered the OP to a link spouting on about the 360 having better visuals.

I just thought it valid to mention to the OP if he was buying purely on visuals he may want to consider the PC version. I wasn't trying to start yet another PC vs console debate. Jeez i don't even game myself on the PC anymore

Note: i also pointed out that if he intended playing online he should go with the version is mates are playing.

You did.
The section this is in is partly to blame, but it can't be put in either PS3 or 360 can it as it will be biased too.

There is nothing wrong with, and nothing to be afraid of .
The fact is it was a question directed at consoles and so i think it is safe to assume that the OP has used a PC before and knows it can be used for gaming, and is superior (not many will argue that).

Well whoever he is, he is biased.
As i said above, that is for the reason of 360 or PS3 sections will be biased for one or the other too.

But why assume and risk only giving the OP half the story? Why only give half the story to all the lurkers and googlers out there that come across the thread?

I mean should we have multiple 'Which COD?' threads - maybe one for 'COD6 on PC or PS3?' or 'COD6 on Xbox 360 or PC?' - all telling half a tale? Or is it better just to have the one thread where it was all discussed?

Why not just have one big section and throw everything in there for games.?
Your directing these questions at the wrong person and in the wrong section, we have sections and the mods are forever telling people to stay on topic in all sections, not just gaming.
Telling half the tale on PS3 or 360 topic of a title......

Because 80%+ of gaming chat is platform specific. I suppose we could have a generic 'play & help' section but even then things will vary per platform - for example if someone playing Dead Space asked about the gash controls a console answer would be 'that is the way it is' whereas the PC answer would be 'turn off v-sync'.

By contrast 'which version' threads should very much be open season for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Mac and Wii users to voice their opinions (where it is released/proposed on that platform obviously). And I would have thought the same applies to handheld units as well - indeed probably even more important there.

Re: COD6 on 360 or PS3?

I have both consoles but bought it on Xbox 360. The 360 is better for online play and as far as I'm aware it sold a lot more on the 360, so you have more people playing it regularly also.

Whilst I don't doubt that the Xbox 360 version has sold the best of the two, I would be dubious about believing sales figures.

You can't - threads generally stay open for others to comment/discuss the same issue - it saves a myriad of similar threads if one becomes the focal point.

N4G.com : Xbox 360 MW2 Outselling PS3 2-to-1

The asda I went to on launch night and nearly sold out of 360 but was told they had loads of ps3 ones left... plus the sainsburys in wrexham had loads of ps3 copies left on the day of launch also.

Agreed the PC version will be better but at what cost - I bet the graphics card needed to run this would cost on its own more than a 360!
Not at all, my GTX260 plays that and pretty much every other PC game on max settings at a good 60fps frame rate - cost me about £114 with a free copy of Batman AA.

I wouldn't buy a cross platform game on either console, they are just for exclusives .

In answer to the OP's question...don't listen to deluded fanboys on here, just buy it on the console you prefer to play on.
