Racing game for joe average: No more supercar claptrap

Gran Forza Gotham Gt bog standard edition

Standard production version

It's about time there was a racing game that features run of the mill standard production cars that joe average may actually get a chance to drive and mr skint may pick up second hand at some stage, all racing games feature the usual souped up and out of our price range suspects and to be honest imo it's wearing a little thin, i'd like to race a ford fiesta, vauxhall corsa or vw polo for a change, hell i may even pick one of these up at some stage and it would also give new drivers a chance to look at things in polygon glory rather than some souped up super car that we all can't afford.

Classic version

On a side note i also think it's about time there was a racing game for the older generation of gamers, so sony, microsoft and everyone else sit up and take note there's a massive loop hole here that needs filling, here's my mock up piccy of some models to include, please note these are once again cars that joe average could afford (all of which i myself have owned similar models of at some stage) and do not include out of our price range e-type jaguars etc, enjoy the thread, feedback welcomed.

While you're at it add a ford escort with the small wheels, wide arches and jacked up backend oh and stick a red light underneath classic 80's style....

Was just trying to figure out if u really meant this thread? Sorry if it was more of a joke and i didnt get it,lol but...
Have you not ever played Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport etc? Both have run of the mill stock production cars to play with. Heck go grab a 1.3L Ford Ka or The little 1.2L Corsa that you want and hit the Nurb Ring on GT4? Take a while tho

And the older Generation would love GT Legends on the PC as has all the old pre '76 escorts/jags/minis/Lotus Cortina's etc etc that you want.

And if ur really old grab the Ford model T on GT4, Grab ur Pipe and fall asleep mid lap.

None of those feature a good selection of post 90's cars (yes there's a few but), they are all geared towards high end models, what i'm asking for here is a game with loads of cars but all within joes second hand budget of about £2000

That could be interesting but i'd be surprised if it covered most of the models i'm interested in, especially with the words Gt in the title (seems bog standard versions would be excluded), maybe i'm asking for something that will never materialise.

Nah i'm not that old, though i've driven loads of classic cars due to my dad previously owning a garage (when i lived at home) and buying and selling them, we once owned about thirty cars at a single time, their combined total would not have exceeded the price of one new one

Fair enuf but GT4 is the neareast u will get to what u want, loads of pointless old slow cars in it really. more than u mayb realise, the 80's and 90's section is huge and loads under the 2nd hand £2000 mark of say today.
Near as u will get anyway.

Yeah it's really a nostalgia thing and i think we all become attached to our first set of wheels, it isn't a question of speed here as my first car was a ford cortina mk2 1500 deluxe, it was 1966 on an 'E' plate and the only car my old man would give me for free at the time due to it being of little value, he resprayed it completely for me though and it looked mint afterwards.

My mates have souped up subs etc and the like but these are no longer a rarity on the road, there are at least 10 knocking around where i live but no-one has an old mk2 cortina or mk1 escort, i used to get loads of people asking me about my cars (mainly older people who used to own one) maybe an encyclopedia of cars with a test drive mode would be better .

I must say, i've just stuck good ole' GT Legends on tonight and you really forget how addictive it is sliding a Cortina, Capri or Jag around Donnington .

It's still a quality game and one of the most fun driving sims out there.
