Listing games on Ebay... Opinions please!

I'm taking big steps towards having quite a major clearout of gameage...

Just wondering... with the recession, have game values gone down significantly on ebay or are they fairly accurate to a game's worth? I.E. is it a good idea to list stuff now?

I would say from my experience from checking out ebay etc for old skool gaming, yes prices have tended to be less that what I expected. I'd say stick them up here, as you have done already , with what you want for them and go from there, without the cost of ebay as well to worry about.

Re: Listing games on Ebay... Opinions please!

Thanks chap. Just not sure there is enough interest here... that's one benefit of ebay... wider audience... including international bidders!

While the fees are a buggar, I was think of listing them up as buy it now/best offers so that I get what I hope for price-wise... most of my prices are marked under the going rate so I'd hope they'd go.

Think I may have a major ebay day tomorrow by the looks of it then!

You also find that buyers on ebay aren't as 'savvy' as buyers on here. Some people assume ebay is always cheaper than buying new online, so they don't check. I've often sold things for a few quid more than can be found online!

I always do buy it nows - I check the prices a games has gone for over the last few days and put my price somewhere in the middle of the range, or to the top end if there aren't many auctions on. I've always sold everything I've put on.

Re: Listing games on Ebay... Opinions please!

Thanks for the advice... well, I've started selling and that's exactly how I've listed the vast majority of items... quite a few have sold so that's quite good... it's quite a good feeling selling off the collection... going to keep the things I truly love and play but off all the stuff that just sits there gathering dust - what's the point!

I've always had quite a bit of success in selling games and DVDs on ebay - you might not get quite market value but you'd probably get the same as what you would get for trade-in prices in Game or somewhere similar, and it saves you a trip into town!
