Which games have you bought more than once?

I was going to ask this on the 360 forum, but I suppose it applies to everyone really!

So, which games have you bought more than once and is there a reason why?

For me:

Fallout 3 - Bought 3 times - twice on 360, once on PS3. I didn't want to finish it on the 360 until the dlc that raised the level cap and let you explore after the main mission was released, so I sold it in the meantime. Then I got a PS3 and Game had it for £12.99 used, so I rebought it for that to play through as the good guy (I'd been bad first time). Then I sold my PS3 and rebought it for the 360 and got the dlc.

Oblivion - Bought 3 times - all for 360. I play it, get bored after a while, sell it, then rebuy it as I want to carry on exploring!

Morrowind - Bought 4 times - twice for PC, twice for Xbox (first time to play on the original Xbox, then again to play on 360). Bought when it first came out for PC after readin reviews (I'd never played a game like it before). Started it, got fed up of being slow and getting killed by rats so ignored it for another 6 months. Tried again and started to love it, but ended up killing a ghost impotant to the main quest a few hours in, so I couldn't progress any further. Left it for a while again. Then found out how to make the ghost reappear by adding some code into the game, so carried on and completed it, loving every minute. Bought it again as soon as I got the Xbox to play through. Then bought it again when I bought the 360, then bought it again for PC for a couple of quid off ebay to play through again.

Deadspace - bought twice - bought, but didn't play as I had Fable 2 and Fallout 3 at the same time, so I sold it to recoup some funds. Rebought a couple of days ago to play through.

Gears of War, Crackdown, The Orange Box - all bought twice for the same/ simlar reason as Deadspace.

GTA4 - bought twice on Xbox 360 - got bored the first time, rebought a few months later as my brother and his work mates started playing online regularly and invited me. Got back into it again and I'm enjoying it more now.

Speedball 2, Monkey Island and SWOS - all bought twice, once on the Amiga, once on Xbox Live Arcade. Reasons should be obvious!

For me it is:

Call Of Duty, 2 and 3 both bought twice

PGR 3 because my mates just started playing it online, a few years late!

Oh and Half life on the PC I have paid for twice! (great game)

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Resident Evil 4, bought it three times, first on PAL Gamecube, then NTSC Gamecube(to enable progressive scan over component), then the Wii version. Funny thing is I'll no doubt be buying it again soon when it appears on the iphone app store

Only other game I can remember buying twice was Vandal Hearts on the PSone, stupidly I still ended up regretting selling it after completing it the second time around, talk about not learning my lesson the first time

Company of Heroes - I wanted to play one of the expansion packs whilst at home but had left the disc at work and had completely forgotton about the login system. That said I didn't pay much because I got the other expansion pack in the same package.

Far Cry - I wanted to play it whilst away at work but had forgotton my disc so brought again.

Gears Of War - purchased the original at launch on the Xbox 360. We the PC version came out with mouse/keyboard control and extra content it was a must have!

Half Life - a second purchase to get it and the expansion packs in a DVD style case

Half Life: Opposing Forces - a second purchase to get it and the expansion packs in a DVD style case

Half Life: Blueshift - a second purchase to get it and the expansion packs in a DVD style case

Half Life 2 - a second purchase in order to get Half Life 2: Episode 2, TF2 and Portal

Half Life 2: Episode 1 - a second purchase in order to get Half Life 2: Episode 2

Inflitrator - a blast from the past here - a Spectrum game. Brought on release but thought it was buggy (helicopter wouldn't fly straight, missing missiles etc) and so binned it. Went back to it a few times though and eventually completed it. I think I purchased it two or three times in the end!

Medal of Honour: Allied Assaut - a second purchase because the game disc had become defective and I wanted to play one of the mission packs.

Oblivion - original purchased at launch on the Xbox 360 but returned it and brought it for PC instead (due to better graphics and mods).

Quake - purchased at launch and loved it. A few years later a version was released with QuakeWorld and Threewave CTF included on the disc and so brought that to save time on future installs.

Quake 2 - same reasons as the original Quake - a disc was released with various patches/mods included.

The Witcher - wanted to show support for a company adding so much content post release.

I think that is it

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Not that many really.

- Target Renegade on the Speccy because I wore out the original Cassette I had .

- Bought most versions of outrun, including Spectrum, Megadrive, Saturn, PS2 Sega Ages version, Amiga as well as the new one on the Xbox, Xbox Live and the PSP.

- Wipeout on the Playstation, PC and the Saturn.

- Gauntlet on Speccy, Amiga, Megadrive

- Robocop on Speccy, Amiga & Jamma arcade board.

- Double Dragon on Speccy & Jamma Arcade board.

- Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - bought Japanese download and UK disc releases.

- Half Life 2 & Epidode 1 on PC & 360.

- RE4 - US Gamecube release & Wii version.

- FFVII - PS1 & PS3 download.
There's probably more but they jump to mind.

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Never bought a game twice, but I did once spend about 8 hours downloading an old game (aliens vs predator I think it was), only once it was downloaded to look on my shelf and see the damn thing sitting there. That pleased me I can tell you. (Note I don't have a habit of downloading games other than on steam)

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Super Puzzle Fighter 2 - Bought 3 times for PSone, mate stole one copy, I lost one copy once I got rid of my PSone and then saw it second hand in Gamestation so paid £18 for it to play on my mate's PS2, then bought it again (as the HD Remix!) for the 360 lol

Worms - Twice, once on PC years ago, once on 360 when I first got that.

Streets of Rage - Once on Megadrive, once for MegaCD, bought SoR2 twice, once for MD and once for 360.

Cannon Fodder - Bought a few times for different PC's, kept throwing it out when my PC would die only to rebuy it when I got a new PC

Metropolis Street Racer/PGR - Dreamcast then Xbox

Jet Set Radio/Future and also Shenmue 2 for the same reasons.

Can't think off-hand of any other games but I'm sure there's loads more of them kicking about, I'm a bit of a nightmare when it comes to just rebuying the same stuff

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Fable 2 - Bought it and finished at original release, sold it and repurchased after every DLC that has since come out.

COD4 - 2 copies on the Xbox360 and one on the PS3

Football Manager 2006 & 2007 - Had them both on the PC and Xbox360 but the console versions never felt the same.

Secret of Monkey Island - PC version back in the day totally changed my perceptions of what a video game should be (was quite happy just blowing **** up before this ) recently bought the HD version on Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Force Unleashed - Twice on the 360, again I repurchased it to play the DLC and mop up some Achievements still left to get.

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Wont have enough room here.

All the PSONE Final Fantasies, finished them when first came out, then spent a fortune recently buying them again for the collection.

Dead Rising x3. A game I buy never play sell then buy again, have a copy in my shelf unplayed that im thinking of selling

Brian Lara Cricket 07 x3. Get the urge to play this now and again and holds its value well.

Resident Evil 4. Owned on Gamecube, PS2 and Wii

Gran Turismo Prologue x3. Bought twice before, wasnt too fussed at start but bought again just to show off the PS3 to be honest, then bought a third time to use with the G25.

GTA4 x3. Again one I buy hoping to get more into. Currently have a sealed copy on the shelf.

Ace Combat 6 x4. Graphics suck me in but gameplay always pushes me away.

Have lots more have bought twice, but dont want to bore thread users any further

Daytona & Daytona Championship Circuit Edition on Saturn then the Dreamcast version. I pray for a day they release it on PSN with 41 other players online

Tekken DR on PSP and PS3 too.

One day I may even have to hunt down a sit down cab of Daytona, I could just sit and play that game continously for hours for some reason

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Starcraft, at least 3 times. Used and abused the disks.

Diablo, again, used and abused.

Diablo 2, 3 copies, mainly for muling items and having multiple copies running to level faster (things are harder with more people in game)

Monkey island series, simon the sorceror series.

Probably more, but those are my most memorable.

Star Wars Battlefront (1&2).

Bought 2 copies of each in the belief that I could network my PS2 and PS3 together and play 2 players across a LAN.

It never worked.

...actually another one springs to mind, which a load of gamers must have also bought more than once.

Fifa.

Different teams every year, but basically the same game.

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

I tend to think carefully about my game purchases/exchanges, so only get rid of a game if/when I'm as sure as I can be, I'll never want to play it again.

The only game (so far) I've ever sold and then later bought again is Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube. Ironically by the time I'd got it for the second time, it had come out on Wii, so I ended up getting that version shortly after, and thus the re-bought gamecube version has never been played again!!

At some point I can see myself re-buying killer 7 and Project No. 3 on gamecube too, as they were both very stylish games that I enjoyed playing.

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

I never sell or throw away any of my old games or consoles you see xD.

So the only ones I can think of are Diablo 2:LoD because I lost my disc and it's an awesome game.

Guild Wars: Nightfall because I bought Nightfall and then the Complete Collection because it was cheap as chips.

And World of Warcraft because I started playing again with a new account!

Re: Which games have you bought more than once?

Oh yea, i forgot about Half-Life.

I think i bought the first one twice. Then Number 2 i had 3 times... Once bought on steam, once cuz i wanted a disk, and then i bought the orange box to get Episode 2... And i already had Episode One, so i guess that twice too.

So i gifted those away to various people!!
