I know this is all down to opinion but my best memories will have to be on GTA: SA i remember driving Planes,Trains,Trailers, I really did enjoy, i was wondering what everyone else thinks about the GTA series and which is there most favorite? Cheers.

My favourite is SA as well. GTA IV is interesting and fun for a while, but I don't like the ultra-realism and tedium. Saints Row seems to capture the fun of the earlier games in the GTA series.

Vice City without a doubt for me. Loved it. I got bored of GTA IV after about a week, far slower paced imo and not having the time to put into it I've missed out probably.

Vice City for me too, the only GTA game I've played thru to the end.

SA was good but I could never be arsed to ever unlock the first island so my entire game play time was taken sminning over to a locked island and seeing how long I could last at maximum star level

I think I would have to go with Vice City too, although San Andreas and IV are fantastic too

All of them were great ..... but the jet pack cheat on andreas tips it to the top for me .... buzzing around in a jet pack never got boring.

Vice City was superb, San Andreas was very good, IV is good.

For some reason I just never really liked the games that were set in Liberty City.....don't know why.

I think Vice City would be my favourite for many reasons (fantastic soundtrack, first GTA game with helicopters etc) although San Andreas would be a close second.

Best is Vice City for me.

Saying that, they've all had something special about them; GTA3 was amazing at the time, a real groundbreaker. SA was huge and a massive playground. GTA4 lost a lot of the pure fun, but pushed it into MGS-ish territory, well sort of - more story-telling. I still play GTA4 as bombing about in the online racing is fun, just a pity at the end of the single-player game your options are limited offline.

I am very much looking forwards to Red Dead Redemption, i think it'll be a back-to-fun GTA game without the tech. And who dosent like horsies?!

I loved doing that, I might get a new ps2 and get a copy of SA i hope the graphics aren't that bad i can't really remember thou i've been playing GTA IV alot recently

Either Vice City or Vice City Stories (PSP) I love the world they created, the era, the humor, the story and characters - all good

But I'm a huge GTA fan, completed every game with the words 'grand theft auto' in the title on at least one platform and would happily sit down and play any of them again.

I'm actually a bit of a rockstar fanboy come to think of it - currently playing through Max Payne for the first time and its quality in every aspect.

I didn't really like the PSP version of vice city it was all right but i never go round to completing it having said that i loved it on the ps2, Can't wait for the new gta game i heard that its going to be set in SA.

It's between GTA3 and Vice City for me. GTA3 was something new and great, and then Vice City was abit of a more refined version IMO, great soundtrack too as has been already mentioned.

I liked GTA:SA and GTAIV but once I finished them I never did really put them on just for a laugh. I think this was either because the 2 maps were too big (I liked knowing my way around) or because the concept wasn't as new and exciting anymore.

GTAIII it is for me. I remember seeing it in GamesMaster before it was out, and after seeing the 98% score I knew I had to play it. Luckily for me I was after a PS2 for christmas so GTAIII was on the cards

Great game. The start of great things to come. I loved pretty much everything about it, heck I still play it on the 360 sometimes. Nicking a Banshee from that car lot and just driving about at high speed is great fun. Hidden packages, cheat codes to spawn tanks . I prefer the soundtrack too, 60/80s, very similar looks and sound wise to Scarface which was probably one of their desing influences.

Sold my PS2 before the Vice City come out so I haven't played it much. Got it though so I'm sure I will complete it some day.

San An offered a lot more than GTAIII but I still prefer where it all started in Liberty City.

GTAIV awesome also, the graphics are fantastic, new gameplay elements have really taken the game foward. Cover mechanics, realistic driving, improved combat, great weather system. Back to the old GTAIII style which I liked, but not everyone did. Everyone expected it to be like San An, but if they checked any previews/reviews they'd have known what to expect.

GTAIV is a good indication of what's to come in the future for GTA, and I for one can't wait to see after playing that great game.

san andreas on pc... best game iv played in my life period... the many hours of finding new car mods and jet fighter skins lol... the amount of trash talking playing online on vogels....

I have it on PC but never got round to playing it, i did install it and got some mods but then couldn't be asked to complete it on PC since i already completed it on my Console the PS2.

A lot of people say that, it's usually those that couldn't drive in the game.

The griving system is fricking awesome, better than Crackdown which was the king before hand. Quite easily the best driving in a sanbox game today.

Yeah I'm telling you that driving in GTA 4 is nothing like driving a real car.....IMO at least. It's not awful and it is better than the other games in the series but it is far from 'realistic' and I can play all aspects of GTA games fine thank you very much.

I'd also say, IMO of course, that the best driving mechanic in any sandbox today is Burnout Paradise hands down.

I had no problems with the driving mechanics in GTA IV but to say it's realistic would probably indicate that you're not a driver in real life?

Burnout Paradise is a racing game not a sanbox game

Steering yes, acceleration yes, wheel spin yes, handling at speed yes, handling in various weather yes...
