Quidco or Topcashback?!?!

hi,

ive been with quidco for a year now and all is well, though ive come across topcashback now and wondered which is best.

TBC doesnt charge £5 a year but everyone online always talks or mentions quidco and never TBC

To be honest. I have both Quidco & TCB and use whichever one gives me the most cashback with the particular retailer I'm purchasing from.

From what I've heard Quidco charges the £5 rate but generally it's %'age cashback returns per retailer are higher than Topcashback. I think Quidco also has a higher number of affiliates, though I could be wrong...

i have both, used to use quidco primarily but now more often than not i use topcashback.

Just check who offers a better deal, if its about the same just use TCB.

I also find TCB tracks better too, no messing about filing queries...
(be interesting what others think on this poiunt too)

Just bought two laptops at a very competitive price from Dell (couldn't have got the equivalent any cheaper). To get £52 back from Quidco on top of that is like double icing on the cake.

Cheers,

Nigel

I use quidco, but i'm starting to get a bit fed up with things not tracking.

Used to work fine, but now I find I have to put tickets in for so many things, they take around 2 months to confirm as well!

Must admit I have started to see some problems over the last 6 months. Not so much with 'not tracking' but for things tracking at totally random amounts. The correct transaction price tracks but the amount of cashback bears no relationship to any of the percentages the company claims to use whether you include VAT and P&P or not.

Quidco aren't that helpful at sorting things out. Their stock response is to reject the inquiry, saying that it will sort itself out when the transaction validates - and when it doesn't the Quidco system won't let you raise an inquiry because one has already been raised and rejected.

The latest offenders for me are GAME and THE HUT.

Cheers,

Nigel

Quidco - Marks and Spencer

I've used Quidco for a while now and have been impressed.
However was just about to orer from M&S and they don't seem to be there now!
I think I'll be opening a Topcashback account - Do you get anything for actually opening an account?
Cheers

TopCashBack are rated just as reliable as Quidco.

The choice between the two is dependent on what you're using the cashback service for. There may be slight differences in the number of merchants or the rates. I can tell you one thing, if you're using it for small consumer goods like video games, DVD's and Blu-rays you're definitely better off using TopCashBack due to the fact that they don't take that £5 off you.

Even though they give you 1% less than Quidco on some merchants like Play - you're still better off for all figures below £500 a year.

just to let everyone know if they arent aware that topcashback is offering an extra 1% (atleast) from now till xmas!!!

btw, cheers for the feedback, i am no using both but may just end up with topcashback as i dont earn "that" much cashback a year so the £5 a year admission fee thing might put me on the TCB side

As i posted earlier, i generally find TCB an altogether less painful experience.

I'm still waiting for quidco to give me a £50 payout from O2 after six months when incorrect paypal details were used. The ticket I raised is now being ignored after the standard response of, "our accounts department is looking into it".

When it works it's great when it doesn't they can't be bothered. So I've stopped using them now.

Ive not had a problem with Quidco until recently. Lots of things actually track then validate but never actually pay up. Instead, when it gets near the end of the month, the payment date goes back another month. So I am nearly a year down the road waiting for a 3 month track of car insurance cashback.

Top cashback is a better deal no £5 fee & they pay up usually OK, Tracking is fine, very helpful if there is any problem with a retailer.

The worst one for me was a transaction I made on ebay via quidco.

The item was £270, and guess how much cashback I got......

1p!!!!!!!!!

Funnily enough, quidco don't allow queries on ebay items, if you ever buy anything expensive from there, you'll know why! I know you get 40% of the buyers fees etc. and not the overal price, but even still... 1p? lol, pull the other one!

I made the mistake of buying something expensive on ebay because I thought i'd get a fair bit of cashback, never again will I make that mistake!

That's the ridiculous thing about it!

It's all to do with how much the seller pays in fees etc. and if they are power sellers they get discounted fees. But if they honestly think the sellers fees were around 3p for an item worth £250+, they obviously don't know ebay very well!

I use quidco but I've just taken a look at topcashback and when going onto the Dell Small Business page, they are showing £18+15%

So when i buy a server for £3000 (which i need to)....I will get £468

Tell me I'm going mad

Looking again, there is no "continue" button next to the servers line so I suppose its not available

Anyone explain this?

If you look at the page, it says :-

"Orders will receive £18 PLUS 15% cashback!"

so its misleading if thats the case
