Re: 2 x £15 iTunes vouchers for £20

Can you use iTunes point to shop at the online apple store itself?
Never used apple store online before, but noticed my log on detail are automatically carried over from my iTunes account to the store.
If the point were valid on the apple shop it would make the iphone 1/3 cheaper

Bugger, I was on such a downer when I tried getting mine (they were in my basket then vanished) but all of a sudden became out of stock during transaction, until I found this thread - so they are definitely in store yeah?????

Re: 2 x £15 iTunes vouchers for £20

Just picked up 6 of them from Daventry, I thought about buying the remaining 4 as well, but decided to share with everyone else

BTW, you can use these in conjunction with Quidco, so that'll be an extra 6% back, so that's like getting a further £1.80 off

Redeem the cards as normal, then before you buy anything just use the Quidco link to launch iTunes. You'll then get the 6% commission in exactly the same way as normal.

I think that is showing you the discounted/promotional cost of the vouchers and not the actual voucher values. Their system is stating you are paying for 3 at full price and 3 for only £5 each.

You could well be right, do iTunes do £5 vouchers?

I'm not sure but the email from Clinton Cards does state that I have ordered 4 x £15 iTunes vouchers despite the slightly confusing checkout information. The item code you have displayed (GIA0865) is also for £15 vouchers.

Re: 2 x £15 iTunes vouchers for £20

There's something similar on the Money Saving Expert forums. Apparently one voucher is shown at £15 the second at £5 to make the total correct.

As far as I know, they don't make £5 vouchers.

Went to my local Clintons (Thame, Oxfordshire), they knew nothing about the offer but sure enough it scanned through at the offer price. Bought up their stock of 10 cards. Thanks to you all.

Yes. I think they may have had some more out back.

I'm very curious about how these discount offers are funded. Given that an Apple developer gets 70% of the cost of an app and Apple gets 30%, where is the margin that lets an Apple retailer give away 35%.

you're assuming most of the cards are used to pay for apps, but most of the cards will be used to pay for music and video.

The question is still relevant though, since my understanding is that Apple make pennies on music downloads. Also, 1.5 billion app downloads is not an insignificant proportion of the total music downloads, I know the cumulative download total a couple of years ago was 5 billion, so the run rate can't be much more than a couple of billion per year.
