Certain CDs playing static/not ripping on my PC

Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out here.
I've got a TSSTcorp SH-S223B cd/dvd drive, and ive been ripping some CDs to FLAC using EAC.
However EAC is having a problem ripping a few of them. The error correction bar lights up and it just dosn't rip. The discs arn't scratched, in fact they are in excellent condition.
I then tried to play the discs with Winamp, and there is a horrible distortion/static in the background of the music (but only when there is music. ie, during quiet sections, the static isn't as bad).
So far this has only happened with 3 out of 10 CDs, but i have no idea what the problem is. The CDs play/rip fine in my laptop btw.

Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

Cheers

Alex

PS. I have updated the firmware

Re: Certain CDs playing static/not ripping on my PC

does the CD contain some sort of DRM preventing copying?
