sending a CV

i have a CV saved via Open Office. i want to send that cV to an emplyment agency online but im not sure/worries if they would see it as it is. my OO doesn't save my CV as a PDF. only as an .rtf. document. so, would it be practical to attach the .rtf CV (as the website is telling me) or send it/export it via as a PDF? what's the best way? i need advice.

Re: sending a CV

get hold of PrimoPDF - free printer driver that creates PDF files. Any app that supports printing can then be used to create PDFs by selecting the 'PrimoPDF' printer.

Re: sending a CV

but i don't have a printer. i don't need a printer driver. what i need is some advice on how to send my CV...as an exported pdf file or as a .rtf file as im worried the employer might not see it as it is saved using Open office.

Re: sending a CV

err - you don't need a printer. the driver is for a 'virtual printer'. You set the output to file and it produces a PDF file that you can send on via-email. isn't this what you want ?

get hold of it and install and you will see.

Re: sending a CV

NO. Rtf contain all kinds of information.
website says it wants an RTF ? is that an employment agency ? they like rtf and word docs as they can have them searched by tools and it doesn't need a human to do anything all all. They often do this !!

Up to you send the rtf or create a PDF with primopdf or similar. If it was me I would send a PDF. I would also watermark it with Pdfmark with are refernce to the specific job - to make sure it wasn't 'passed around'...

Re: sending a CV

No it would not. you just attach the file you want to.

i thought you couldn't export the file as a PDF - hence the primopdf route ?
