Exclamation Processing options on Onkyo amp. Please help.

Im trying to setup the inputs on my Onkyo amp. Now it gives me a LOAD of options for each input.
Which processing option is best to choose for blu ray and xbox 360 and 5.1 speakers?
Puresound, THX, dolby, DTS etc etc etc.

Please tell me what you set yours to and why.

Thanks for any advice.

This really is a matter of taste.
It varies not just by input but by source within that input - try the range for each source, using the relevant Listening Mode button, and stop on the one you like best.

Thanks for your response. If I want the original sound format with no post processing do I select pure sound?

Yes, it can be quite effective with some sources.

Can you give an example? I'd be interested to see if there's a difference.

Pure audio is supposed to be the best listening experience as there is 0 post precessing what so ever so you know you should be hearing it as "god" intended :D. Also when this option is enable all video circuitry is disabled so that any chance of any noise (electrical) is removed (even though it is likely to be low to none). Take note when Pure Audio is enabled even the from led screen is disabled.

If for example you was watching a good quality encodes bluray and wanted the absolute best visual and crisp audio then you would select this option.

The next best to this is Direct Audio it does state there is minimal processing (to what extent not known) but this option can be used for in put sources that don't use HDMI)
