My best advice to you would perhaps not be what you want to hear to be honest the speakers from all in ones are usually way below their stated wattage & certainly would not stand the power output for long. Also with the speakers being 4 ohm you run a risk of damaging the Amp. Yes you would require an independant "Active" Sub (Has it's own Amp. built in), this is connected by a phono to phono lead to the sub outlet.

If your budget is tight I would suggest taking a look at the RS website

Re: Help looking at amp but dont understand rms would this work

As you have the budget to cover something even above the 607 why not go below the 607 instead and use some of it for a new set of speakers?

If you tell us what speakers you're using, that'll help us.

The european version of the 607 can be set to work with 4ohm speakers (the american version cannot). It's a configuration item - check in the manual. Get a decent active subwoofer and you will be OK with your existing speakers. Then plan to upgrade them later.

Re: Help looking at amp but dont understand rms would this work

I very much doubt that the LG speakers will tolerate much more than 20W RMS (maybe less) I'm pretty sure the 140W quoted will be Music power or peak rating. If you do plan to use them keep the volume control well down on the Amp.

Use them carefully, keep the volume quite low or you may turn them inside out

I can't say I have heard the 577 but on paper it looks fine, I have heard the 607 as a mate has one & for the price it is great value. Usually the more you pay for an Amp. the better the sound that said I think the 577 should be ok.

With regard to the speakers, if your budget will allow I would set your sights higher, something like These would be good if it's compact lifestyle speakers you are after.

Other than the extra HDMIs the upscaling video did it for me - and the 607 is newer.
