Getting no response from the sub on an 805 - any settings to change?

Guys, just setup my 805 after having it sat in the living room for 7/8 months (very long story...). Just doing audessy and I get no response on the sub at all. When playing any movies / music / ps3, no bass from the sub.

There is the "thump" from the sub when I switch the amp on/off which indicates to me that the signal is being sent/received, but why am I getting no bass? Is there something which needs to be adjusted in the onkyo settings?

I have tried 2 subs (one from my downstairs system) and this is happening on both, so it appears to be the 805 which is the problem.

Any ideas?

Have you got it in the right sub output on the back, one dosent work the other does, if i remember its the purple one on the right not the purple one nearer the middle.

LOL - cheers mate, I was just about to come on and ask for this post to be deleted......as I had made THAT exact mistake I just noticed it when pulling the cable out for about the 100th time today - thinking "what's that second purple one....oh, it's in the pre-out section......" Ooooops!
