Some new LED backlights LCD are out soon offering higher figures than the OLED. |
They probably mention Dynamic Contrast for marketing reasons. People like to read spec sheets and think they know what they're reading. Things like 1000000:1 contrast ratio, which even on OLED is a laughable amount.
I predict that new OLED screens will need even bigger and better marketing gimmicks to make sure that people REALLY are convinced that it's so much better than LCD or Plasma.
Plus, it's Sony, so we can expect "new" names like Extreme Dynamic Diamond Contrast and things like that.
For people who use these forums, these names will mean as little as Dynamic Contrast and 10000000:1 CR mean now. But for "normal" people who don't check for dead pixels and who watch a movie just to watch a movie and not to check the black levels, those marketing names will make a lot of difference!
