Is likely to be a successful new flat screen format?

http://www.ifire.com/Technology/index.aspx

The idea seems interesting, but I wonder with its reliance on phosphors will it have the same drawbacks as plasma with screen burn? The target spec are little poor on contrast and number of colours, however it may be a technology to keep an eye on....

Here is a brief mention in the 2004 bbc white paper on flat screen technology... http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/pubs/whp/whp...les/WHP089.pdf

The only hope for this technology is if they could get a successful NONE TV electronics company to invest in this area.

Too much has been spent by the big display manufacturers on plant equipment for them to jeapodise their investment.

This could be the Betamax of the display world unfortunately.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Microsoft decided to wade into this area sometime in the future so you never know
