Unused players

We have a Pioneer 2950 LD player which I'l loathed to get rid of, plus a cassette player and VHS player which we only keep to archive stuff (when I can get round to it).
And I don't really use my DVD player in the home cinema any more.
What older players do you have which you don't use any more?

How do you know the players are lying?
They may think they are telling the truth!

re: Unused players

I must admit that I was drawn to the thread thinking that it was about online gaming.

I have a Pioneer DVD player under the bed and a Denon AVC10SE amp that was £1,300 in it's day sitting around in a cupboard alongside a Tivo that I no longer use

I always sell any old players before I buy new ones, usually whilst they're still worth something.

You ever thinking of selling the Denon?

Re: Unused players

You could have included CD players in this poll. Many people now use DVD or BD players to play CD's. There has to be a limit to the amount of kit you can have in the living room.

Typical Sony of yesteryears. My MiniDisc is gathering dust somewhere... still have one or two unused discs. It got forgotten when iPod came out. Not looking back since...

Re: Unused players

I have a class VHS player , but since i got L&H on dvd (Had the originals recored from years ago uncut bbc2 transfered from betamax) this made the VHS obsolete.. nice upgrade in PQ but a sad day indeed will keep the tapes, going to give the VHS to the mother

Re: Unused players

I've still got one left (out of three) of a s-vhs recorder, a Panasonic NV-HS1000. The other two were Mitsubishi's, a HS 1000 (almost the same model number as the Panny...go figure) and the venerable battleship B82.
As I have transferred all the family stuff from tape to dvd, and believe it or not the original untouched / untampered Star War films from non copy coded prerecorded tapes to dvd, this Panny leviathon sits around doing very little.

Re: Unused players

I use my 360 console to play DVDs and HD DVDs (a bit noisy but turn the sound up!) so have packed away the DVD player somewhere under the bed.

Re: Unused players

Another vote for the minidisc here. Cost me over £100, I bought about 4 minidisc albums, used it for about a week and half, tried selling it and no one wanted it, so threw it away.

Re: Unused players

The "I use all my players" is a bit misleading as they may not have that much of a variety!

Re: Unused players

I decided to treat "don't use" to mean "hardly use", as that was a more reasonable question.

Voted 'I use all my players' but all I still have from the list is a DVD player which is used in bedroom. All other formats listed are obsolete and binned by me!

That is sacrilege! How very dare you!

I use mine everyday, along with its POA-T10 Power Amp!

Still use my Mini-disc players too.

I still use DVD a lot, but why is HDDVD on there? I've never heard of it, only BR but it (HD DVD)looks like a new tech. I don't understand
