I always like to be able to have MP3s as ring tones, I especailly like the feature on my sumsung that lets you cut and paste the best bit of a song and turn that in to a ring tone for the mobile.

Good quality reception is always, always a must though.

A decent camera for is a must for me, its suprising how many funny and unrehersed snaps i have taken with a my camera phone, especially on a boozy night out. As dave s says it must also have good reception/sound.

Phone and text.
That's it.
If I want a camera, I get my camera out.
If I want MP3, ...................
Flaming internet, ha, 6 words is all you can see and that takes half an hour.
And stop making them smaller.
I have little thumbs for a bloke, but find texting really difficult, with 5mm sq buttons.
I suppose I could use one of those big buttoned jobs, but have you seen them?
Stop adding gadgets, I want a phone and that's all!

I use my phone mainly for calls and texts and don't touch other features mentioned. I then saw sat nav and thought, yes, what a good idea .... sat nav on your phone - I'll have one of those please!

I know where you're coming from, but when I'm on holiday I find Internet cafe's are invaluable. £2 an hour as opposed to hitting a mobile company

This should be an interesting thread, IMO

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

The vast majority of phones these days are rubbish: overspecced, overpriced and overly small. I have found the only phones sold now that are compatible with man-sized fingers/thumbs are a few Samsung flip-phones. I don't have enormous hands but I find it stupid having to mince about with the tips of my fingers to use 95% of the phones available today.

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

Hi,

Like many others, all I want are the following:

1) A phone that makes and receives calls well, (e.g. Good cellphone signal coverage around the West Midlands, that doesn't break up or disappear the minute I move.), either by speech or by text.

2) Good volume settings, so that when I'm out and about, I can set it to a suitably loud level to hear, so that I can tell when someone's phoning me, but can also be set to completely "silent" mode, for when I go to the cinemas, restaurants, or whatever.

3) The ability to download the occasional game, and play MP3's (or parts of them) as a ringtone.

4) Good software use, that is nice and easy, and doesn't require a degree in Engineering to use it!

5) A phone, that's not designed to look like it's being "blinged-up" by a new York master-pimp! Nice and simple, please, and make it a suitable size for the average man to use, rather than a bloody 2 year old!

6) Lastly, good build quality! I don't want a phone, that breaks the first time I drop it on the carpet at home, or a screen that corrupts/breaks because of crappy design quality!

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

I have tomtom mobile 6 in my nokia n80. Wouldn't be without it now. Excellent, and as good as tomtom one.

It has maps of western europe and I am relying upon it when I holiday in France this year!

The apple iphone looks like the dogs danglies, and if that is capable of running tomtom, i'm sold.

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

It will be cool to have Remote TV viewing.
You can allready do this on a Nokia N73 on the 3 network with slingbox but its quite expensive and the screen is a bit small.
But will be good when this will be cheaper and you can watch on say a 3in screen.

The battery longevity of my beloved (but now dearly departed) Nokia 6310i. Forgive me, my lost love, for forsaking you for a slimmer and better looking phone...just goes to show its the inside that counts.

The use of wireless and satnav would be a nice step forward as long as it did not compromise battery life.

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

I voted for calls and texting but reliability is a major issue with many new phones that are buggy and poor quality control

I'd use the internet more if vodaphone were not taking the mick with their overcharging. Browsing on a WAP mobile will likley use far less bandwith than a voice call yet they charge a fortune for it.

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

TBH as long as a mobile can makes and receive calls well then I'm not to bothered what features it has (other than an alarm clock). The ability to play some decent games would be nice - but not something I would use often.

What I would like - and this is more contract related than phone - is the ability to hook my mobile upto my laptop and reliably get fast internet on the go without a substantial bill coming my way. Guess I'm just dreaming on that score though!

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

Would n't mind a phone with decent TV reception where the service does n't cost an arm and a leg. That way if I,m stuck in a jam or at work late I could check out the footie or summat!!

Aside from that Like everyone else I want excellent reception and no dropped calls. Not too much to ask for I think!!

Voted for email which would be nice if you could pick up your text based mail for the rate of a standard call at the touch of a button and not need a degree in computer science.

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

I use my phone a lot for it's calendar and contact management facilities. Keeping track of not only meetings and tasks, but also decent reminders for friends birthdays and anniversaries is really useful. I use an SPV and the fact that I can change the data once in outlook and know it's instantly synced to my phone is invaluable.
I also talk to people on it

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

All I want is the ability to talk to people. But it would be nice if the
phone had a built in AI that could carry on the conversation with the
caller (esp. telemarketers) until they said something interesting,
or just give me a precis of the call afterwards.
E.g. instead of a 30 minute "how was your day?", just tell me where
we're meeting and when

Re: What feature will you want most in your next mobile phone?

I voted just calls and text as I am determined that my next phone will work well as a phone first and any other gadgets just a bonus. My current phone responds poorly at times to simple key commands. As I am upgrading my phone next month I am looking at the latest models but nothing seems to jump out and grab me.

Ever since owning the Nokia N80, Wi-Fi has become a must for me. I almost certainly wouldn't buy a phone without built in Wi-Fi anymore. I don't think there was an option to vote for it in the poll though.

The one thing that would make it really easy for me would be satnav, as opposed to having to carry one of those walkaround ones.

I have a decent camera and I use that cause it gives me good results.

I would like it to have enough storage for mp3's aswell.

Absolutely nothing except fast operation, easy text messaging, and the capability to make voice calls.

Being able to check e-mail on it easily would be good too but not essential.

Hmmm, hits most of the right buttons
But I've seen better looking housebricks

I've yet to meet a person who's been happy with a Sagem.
I love Nokia, myself, they're just so intuitive to use.
