DVD all the way - can't stand watching shows on TV, I want to watch them at my pace, not one per week.

Having said that - not even seen Season 1 yet.

How many episodes?

Have watched about half of it so far - probably best not to post any spoilers here other that to say it's great!
How many more are there to go - have they all been broadcast yet? What is "the reckoning" and where does it fit in (when should I watch it?).
The worst thing about watching it before everyone else is that nobody will let you talk about it.

Watched up to episode 19 of season 2, then once the season is over in America i'll watch the final 5 episodes close together. Like Seth says, i like to watch them at my pace not 1 per week, and certainly not with 20minutes of adverts

Argh me harties (sorry I feel I should address a bunch of pirates appropriatly)

It doesn't help the cause that you can download it in HD, so get a better quality than you can get even if you buy the dvd...

All episodes are listed here!
The Reckoning is just a recap episode, shown after S.O.S. (I have guessed from the dates given).
There are only 3 more episodes to be aired And there all this month!

I've downloaded all 20 episodes so far but only just started watching them very recently as, like Seth said, I like to watch a season over a 2-3 week period - I lose interest otherwise.

I tried watching the 2nd season up to episode 8 but its no fun at work when you can't talk about it, so I'll just be PVRing it and fast forward through all the adverts from now on.

In fact I'm re-watching season 1 as E4 re-aired it and have had a couple of mamoth lost sessions in the last couple of days trying to free up disk space and catch up to season 2. Only got 1 and half episodes left now (fell asleep in the middle of one last night ) before I can start season 2 again.

Wish I had Telewest then I could watch it in HD goodness!!!

I read in Empire magazine (I think) that Series 2 of Lost Region 1 won't be on sale until October. Part 1 of Series 2 is available on Region 2 in July though.

It appears they weren't happy last year when we all bought the first series and had watched it before E4 had a chance to get a third of the way through.

So luckily I decided to watch them downloaded, up to Episode 20, will have it all finished by the end of the month.

I'm downloading I just couldn't wait , but I'll buy the region1 boxset when it comes out (did the same with season1) . If they do an HD-DVD version I'd probably get that.

Shame really I'd quite happily pay to download it.

I've checked out a number of 'Lost' fan sites, but the very best I just stumbled across today

www.lostpedia.com

Superb!

But be warned... you might come across the odd spoiler here and there!

You can pay to download it!
But I think you need an american credit card or something.
On the previous page, the episode list I linked has download links to the side of each one.
I think it downloads through iTunes or something.

Recording it

I am recording it on my PVR, and then will transfer it to disc. I loved the first series, but haven't bothered buying it on DVD.

I can't see much about it as I haven't got iTunes installed, can't find anything about it like how much it costs or what the resolution of the download is.

I've got around the American credit card thing before by changing the country to be US forces overseas (or some such) - you can use your UK address then so that the card verifies properly.

It seems bizarre to have a forums rule about not promoting piracy, yet the forum administrator runs a poll openly inviting members to post on their illegal copyright breaching.

Unfortunately, I've been downloading series 2 as well, but only because showing it so far behind America has fuelled it's piracy, no wonder it's perprtually the most requested download on 'friendly sites'.

I started watching lost when I bought the region 1 boxset last Nov, at the time, C4 were just over half way through that season, and I would have had to wait another 6 months to watch the next series, unfortunately I'm only human, so I did what I could to get the latest episodes, mind you I would have happily bought another boxset or watched it were it available on UK TV.

Everyone I know who watches lost among my circle of friends also get it from the net, but I wouldn't have if it was showing on TV.

I have been downloading the 720p, 5.1 versions from the net.
As a massive fan of the series, and having HD gear, what are my options?
Wait six months to watch it with less resolution and worse sound quality?

I know piracy is a thorny issue, and I certainly don't condone music, movie, or game download- if you don't pay for the stuff you enjoy, how can they afford to make more of it?

But TV shows... I already pay my subs to Sky, and if I download it now, or watch it on satellite later, no one has made any more or lost any more money because of my actions. If there was someone who I could pay for watching it early (ABC?) in high def, I would. So we're in the uncomfortable situation of the pirates distributing the material *better* than the official channels.

Until TV companies catch up, it's their problem, not consumers wanting the best stuff ASAP. Apple and Napster have proven it's the online distribution model most pirates appreciate, the fact stuff is free is a bonus.

There should be a option for "I am watching it on Channel 4" as i am not just catching it if i happen to be in, i am watching it every tuesday night, and can't wait til the next episode.

I chose option 1 even though I am justing watching it an a belgian channel rather than Channel 4 .
Why I am still watching it, I don't really know. Because frankly, I think it's the most overrated show that I have ever seen. I guess somehow I fear maybe missing episodes when they really get good, but overall it always has been more promising than delivering.

Usually end up watching the highres (960*540) ac3 xvids. The .ts downloads take too long too appear :-) Also, the xvids look really stunning when fired through ffdshow (denoise3d, 2x lanc resize).

Of course, I could always wait 6 months, and watch it on ultra low bitrate freeview, with no surround sound, crappy resolution, and adverts every 5 minutes. Hrrrrm, what a conundrum.....
