Please vote! Where do you read your DVD news?

Folks, we have frequenly updated news about DVD releases (dates, contents etc) here and we don't seem to be getting many hits. I want to guage the interest in news to decide where to take our DVD news service. So please help us by voting in our poll.
If you get news from other sites, could you please let us know what they offer which we don't so we can improve our service?
Please note that this is independent of our hardware news. This poll is about DVD news only.
Thanks.

I've never really used this area as It always seemed to be more Entertainment News (i.e whos sleeping with/sueing who etc - gleaned from the last post on the main forum page).

Has this recently changed, as I see that "entertainment news" is now a subsection of this area. I may be totally wrong.

I do like the DVD news but have not really seen it before, as I was unaware of it. Maybe a section called DVD News on its own may attract more?

The forum is growing and new things appear all the time (which is great) but it can take a few months before I notice things. Maybe use the front page to "advertise" new forums (which you have done previously).

I use the DVD reviews on this website and Empireonline to keep up to date.

I get most of my dvd info here in this section of the forums ( Movies & Movie DVDs). Noramaly from dave-s or other members. Maybe a sub-section at the top of this section would boost its popularity.

I don't read dvd news but will normally get info on new releases from the forum boards. I'm more interested in hardware news than dvd release news anyway.

Sorry mate , but mine was is mainly magazines and other online sources.
Plus I did used to post some info on this site myself.

Like has already been suggested, maybe a different banner or headline at the top of the forums saying DVD news and updates. that you can just click on and go straight to it.
To be honest, I never really thought about using this site for DVD content info and didnt even realise that you did this untill I had spoken to Phil about it.
Also some other sites have a large achive of info about past realses and have a lot of up coming cover art ect. Maybe once this particular section grows a bit you may get more hits.

Dave.

Razor, glad to see some one read what I posted

i get my news from all over the place, i've got a few favoured sites for news that i check every few days.

i do check on here but the news isn't that prominant - we've had the psp review dominating the home page for a while now. which i think can lead to the opinion that the site is "static". we know it not but thinking about from the pov of the casual browser. i think dvd news could go there or at least have a decent size link to it.

nice question stuart.

I voted for "I go to other sites" but in fairness I get half of my information here on the AV forums (movies and movie DVDs) and the rest from the fantastic DVD answers.com who are often the first or one of the first to post new DVD news releases .

I agree with Lee789 that the site is always growing and changing I too can be slow to notice developments here on AV forums. perhaps something could be done posting the DVD news clearer? personally I don't come into the site from the home page instead using my favourites list I link directly to movies and movie DVDs forums mainly .

Guys if you hit the DVD button at the top of the forums, which has been there for 6 months now, it takes you straight to the news and reviews home page.

All I've seen for the last month here is a big advert for the PSP, I'd prefer to see news about DVDs on the front page

That’s a good point. With the considerable amount of reviews coming through having a dvd graphic on the front page would be a better idea. At least people would see what a great resource the site has. It’s very much hidden at the moment imo.

I also have just noticed the dvd button, doh, and I now have started to read this section on a regular basis. The rest of reviews I tend to read from HCC which I have on sub. Unless i'm in W H Smiths and have a freebie peek at other dvd review only maggies.

news and reviews - NEED to separated. i believe that i've never seen a website or magazine were they are combined. and i think the whole section needs a redesign to make it more accessable.

I think you will find that most of the best websites covering both areas are designed in a very similar way as it is a proven format that works. But thanks for your views again.

Must admit I mostly use the DVD Times. Great in depth reviews of new releases of news, cinema releases & DVD's.
